Took delivery if my first Hybrid today - BMW 530e M Sport.

Can anyone give me a summary of the advantages of a Hybrid around London specifically (apart from the obvious low BIK, better fuel economy etc).

Someone today mentioned you pay for 10 mins parking in London and then no charges...no congestion charge too.

Tried googling but can’t find a definitive list of advantages..can anyone shed some light?

First, it's not a full hybrid but a plug-in hybrid, so overall you get more miles per gallon as you'll be doing some electric miles if you charge from an EVSE. I would advise against charging using the ICE.

When parking at a meter bay in Westminster then you only pay for the first 10 minute (81p) through the ParkRight app. See the last panel on the bottom of this sign:

When entering London you are exempt from paying the congestion charge and ULEZ charge as well. You need to register your car with TfL which costs £10 per year.

When you say it’s not a full hybrid what do you mean? Is this because it has the ability to charge from a plug in addition to using the engine/regen vs a hybrid which can only charge from engine/regen

Slightly misleading definitions there.

Some PHEVs would also qualify as 'full hybrids' by their definition as they are able to use the ICE and electric motor independently or simultaneously. E.g. Golf/Passat GTE
