Model S collected
Discussion
I picked up my “Model S Performance” today, and did about 40 miles coming home and going to the shops.
Initial impressions are pretty positive, it’s a nice car to be in, comfortable, very quiet and very smooth.
It was one of my more poorly justified purchases (pushchair filled the M3’s boot, smaller pushchair was £90, and I’ve since bought it anyway) but it’s really nice to drive.
I find myself wanting to do some big trips in it, which I’ve not felt with other recent cars, so will plan some journeys soon.
The other main impression is that it’s extremely fast.

Congratulations! One piece of advice I received from existing owners which proved very accurate - contact your Insurer to up the estimate of you annual mileage Initial impressions are pretty positive, it’s a nice car to be in, comfortable, very quiet and very smooth.

Well, it won’t start today, which isn’t great. It claims that the key is not in the car.
Oh well, I got the best part of thirty miles out of it.
Did you wave the key around the USB ports or near the bottom of the central display?Oh well, I got the best part of thirty miles out of it.
For what ever reason the signal (Bluetooth I think) get interrupted at times.

I did, and that didn’t work, but a hard reset did.For what ever reason the signal (Bluetooth I think) get interrupted at times.
I assume, and hope, that the driving functions are not subject to these glitches.

Unfortunately the car has no phone signal for data where it’s parked.
I left it overnight and it worked this morning. Other than Kerbing it in a multi storey car park it’s been plain sailing since.
Bad luck on curbing it. These stupid low profile wheels and tyres are so fragile and cost a fortune. Guy at work has an i3 and that's all scrapped up.I left it overnight and it worked this morning. Other than Kerbing it in a multi storey car park it’s been plain sailing since.
The S is a heavy car but so are 3.5 ton vans and they don't have to suffer these wheels. An EV doesn't need big friction brakes but still this fashion persists.
