Fairway taxi 2.7 nissan diesel. Can i run it on veg oil??

Hey.
Quite simply i want the bloody taxi to cost less per mile. Its only a toy but the kids love it and its used daily. Wuite a few miles between schools and nursery etc etc.
So can i use clean vegtable oil diluted with diesel to a certain percentage-ish or something similar to run this bad boy without causing any lasting damage. ? To get a much better price per litre?
