Was given an e-tron to try out while my RS5 went in for some bodywork.. Audi's full electric attempt looks and feels pretty good to me. As you would imagine the quality is pretty impressive from Audi. From the interior cockpit to touching the onscreen buttons it just feels so nice..

I think size wise it sits between the Q5 and Q7, I have not owned an SUV in a long time, however it did not feel too big to navigate. While I appreciate it is quite a heavy vehicle with all those batteries, when you pin down the (quiet) pedal in dynamic, the torque surges you back in your seat, it is very impressive.. Cruising along feels effortless as it is so well insulated..

Would I change to an electric? probably not, as I really do not have a need currently and enjoy having something with a bit character. But I imagine for a decent size family that do a fair number of trips, it would be pretty handy, as I assume the cost savings would be staggering on fuel. The range when I picked it up was around 172 miles after loading up the AC and heated seats and a full blast on the accelerator, you can see it drop.. This was at half battery charge, so assume full charge range around 300 miles.. If your in the market for an EV, this is quite nice, once you get over the price - circa £80k.

Great to see the eTron actually out!

Were you flooring it every where on the last trip, 66kWh per 100 mile would give it a range of just over 130 mile from 88kWh usable.

To get 300 miles range you need to hit 29kWh per 100 miles.
