Never heard of these Chinese models before,Neo ES8, EP9 autonomous electric vehicles , the build quality looks as good as any western car.

How soon before they are sold in the UK?

It won't be long until the Chinese swamp us with their electric vehicles...you only have to browse Alibaba to see what's available. It's no wonder Trump is scared...

Electrification will definitely be the making of a Chinese push into other markets. That wipes out the need for a humongous amount of R&D and compliance. The vehicle in the vid looks cool. As above they have the capacity for some right horrors too.

They are pretty much following the Japanese car model

make crap

copy the European stuff

make better, cheaper cars and shift them in volume

EU car makers are giant slow dinosaurs when it comes to change, most of their upcoming electric models are available in tiny numbers and or are based on old fashioned ICE thinking / design

They will gain traction fast.
Electric buses in London are Chinese. Electric cabs in London are Chinese.

I'd be terrified if I was BMW,Merc,Audi right now as their market is ripe for some serious competition.

Businesses like suzuki, dacia etc have a while to go until the technology trickles down

I suspect it's ultimately between China and South Korea as to who will emerge at the top post-electrification.

Byton, Nio, and Polestar will all have at least some Chinese involvement. I think they're going to be serious contenders in 4 or 5 years.

Aren't they all owned by Chinese?

Pretty much. At least in part. Almost all the European and American manufacturers are also partnered with one or more Chinese car makers. The Chinese are keen to improve their own domestic car manufacturers so it makes a lot of sense for them.
