Anyone listen to Radio 5 on the financial benefits of EV cars, particularly in leasing cars and renting battery, against petrol and diesel cars.

If it was the Nicky Campbell one it was generally very positive, I’d say a touch too positive in places, but this is the way with electric cars on both sides, a polarisation of views and rarely a balanced argument. What works for one person might not for another - try driving across wales even in a Tesla and range anxiety is a real thing. Never be further than 30 miles from home and it’s simply not. Live in a flat or without your own driveway next to your house and home charging is usually a problem,etc. for others it’s no big deal. And then the guy saying the next generation of cars can 600 miles and you can fill them up overnight... erm.. on a 7kw charger? You can’t fill a 100kwh battery today from empty to full in less than 12 hours, simple maths. .. but then how often do most need to.. I’ve had a job where that occurred maybe twice a month so for some it might. Or they’re great as the second car in the family for the school run. A guy came on the Tesla owners group yesterday, just taken delivery, asked how he charges away from home and was disappointed with the answer confessing he had a lot to learn. Ipace owners are getting frustrated with range. Why? All they hear from the pro EV crowd is they’re perfect.

It’s also a shame that the only folk that seem to get on the radio come across a liberal lentil eating people with solar panels.

And im a long term Tesla owner who’s walked the walk for over 3 years.
