So more is coming out about BMW's new electric platform and it's first car the iNext concept in 2021

I can't get over that grill. Looks like a huge toothed beaver.
Still surprised that BMW's first 'long-range' battery vehicle is still around 3 years away

You do have to wonder why the hell they made it so ugly, when odd design is part of the reason people aren’t going for electric cars as much. People like conventional
Same reason other other conventional manufacturers don't design them to look great. They don't want to cannibalise ICE sales by enticing mass market appeal. There's still a lot of mileage left in ICE car production, sales and recovering R&D investment... c21 years. Hence they purposefully make them look pig ugly but they can use the same team of designers to make beautiful cars with an ICE under the bonnet. They want BEVs to be a small, but fast growing, niche with no intention to speed that up other than for those already considering or likely to consider making the switch to Electric.

I'm pretty sure the grille won't make it to production. And when it wears a conventional BMW face everyone will be so relieved they'll think it a looker.Nickbrapp said:

Huge amount of sensors behind it that need a flat surface.I too hope they will manage to make the grille a LOT smaller.
