Do you have a realistic idea of when these will be hitting the UK, and do you have any guideline at all on price?

TIA.

Tesla are currently estimating 'early 2020' and rrp of 70K.

Not sure where Docjock got that info from.
Last I heard was RHD production late 2019 with no mention of price.

If it is £70k then I assume that is for the performance model.

I'm assuming late 2019, and I expect production will be to the point where non performance models will be available a few months after initial launch. Can't wait.

That's crazy, when you consider the expectation was £35k when people were putting down deposits.

I suspect that was a joke...

From what I have read RHD demo models should be landing in the new year in the UK

Customer cars should arrive middle of 2019.

Wasn't there an article recently about Musk saying they needed to launch the £75k car first in order to get cash in , or something like that, indicating that the £35k model would be delayed further to the current production delays they are already experiencing.

Thought they already did that. US models were all the bigger battery to start with now producing the smaller one?

Launch day reservation.
Don't hold up much hope for seeing it in 2019 however as I'm after the cheapo version.

Seventy five grand?! That's Model S and Model X territory. Regardless of how fast it accelerates, it's too much for a car in that class, especially with that crappy boot.

Why didn't they make it a proper Focus-like hatchback?

I take it your not a fan of the M3, RS4, or AMG Class?

Tesla are shifting Model 3s far quicker than they can build even, even with the cheapest version at $50k they are about to over take BMW North America sales.

No, £75k is base price territory for an S and not even that for an X.

Time will tell but I think it’ll be an awful long time before there’s a £35k new Tesla.

Not really, no. Or at least, not at that price.

Besides, EVs have the advantage of simplicity and the expensive bit is just the battery, the cost of which is tumbling all the time. All these new EVs are grossly overpriced. Don't fall for the con that we ought to be paying the same (or more) for EVs as we do for ICE cars.

People are stupid, they pay £1200 for the latest iPhone in droves.

I read somewhere that, even though the boot looks like it should open like a hatchback, they designed it to open like a saloon as they were trying to squeeze a bit more rear headroom.

Personally I'd have preferred a hatchback on a car on this size, but it is probably personal preference.

Its not going to be £75k. No way. You can get a brand new S OTR for £74k today incl Autopilot, Air, Power Lift, bigger main screen and more interior space.

That said its never going to be a £35k car either, not in the UK.

I suspect we are looking at c.£50k for the first cars.

Minimal spec for us would be AWD, LR battery, premium interior, and hopefully around £50k. Its alot but my wifes current Lexus IS300H saloon lists at £42k and that was back in 2015.

But if the £ takes more hammering and traiffs go up that £50k could easily become £60k+. I remeber at one point you could get a decent spec brand new S for under £50k, now its near £70k. Our X invoice price was £71k, same car now is nearly £90k. But I suppose thats what a decade of low interest rates/no real wage increase on a back ground of inflation/currency devaluation does frown.

Just come back from Florida and saw at least 10 Model 3 - look a bit weird in the flesh IMHO.

Looks like they may soon break the 25,000 units per month mark on the 3. Not bad IMHO. They should clear all world wide pre orders by end of 2019 at that rate.
