I couldn’t find a previous thread but am sure it must’ve cropped up before.

It seems the company I work for don’t really have a policy for business mileage reimbursement for hybrid vehicles.

I have a fuel card, but don’t have my personal fuel paid for to avoid the tax.

What do you do in these circumstances?

There was even talk of not reimbursing / counting the first 25 Miles or whatever the range is meant to be when reclaiming personal miles.

I’m confused, and so are they.

Cheers.

HMRC make no distinction if it's hybrid or not , it's 11p/mile for company cars (<1400cc) , and rises with bigger engines. You should insist on this.
How will your employer reimburse the 25 electric miles? Electricity isn't free. HMRC doesn't even class it as fuel for vehicles!

When I use my personal car (no fuel card etc.) I get 45p/mile. This is regardless of what the car is.

It's tricky. I charge at home but not at work. So the only way this works, is for me to pay for all my fuel and claim back any business mileage that I do at 11ppm.

If you have to use the fuel card then you will be paying back your private miles at a fixed rate which makes plugging in pointless (to save you money). Just enjoy the BIK saving as many do smile
