Hi,

So this is the 4th summer with my Nissan Leaf and for the last week its been under attack from Ants.

They appear on mass when the car is on charge overnight..

Apparently its not unheard of and there are a few topics on forums about it as they are attracted by the Electric current.

I just wondered if anyone else was having the same..

I've covered my drive in Ant power and put the stuff under the bonnet and around the charge port. Even had the cowling and undertray off yesterday after finding what appeared to be babies on mass when I arrived at work.

This morning nothing but tonight they are back, hate the bl--dy things, only caught one in the car so far but there will no doubt be others.

I can only think the source is my usual work parking (on the road) whereas yesterday it was parked elsewhere for the day, will park somewhere different tomorrow and then I'm off work for a few weeks so will see if that makes a difference.

They will be leaf cutter ants. You need to get a giant anteater or an armadillo, their main predators, to get rid of them.

Only one thing to do, organise an anteater hunt.

They you have the problem of getting rid of a giant anteater. They are very difficult to flush.

A few Jaguars or Pumas will sort that out.
