This is a stupid question, so humour me.

I have had a 530e for a couple of weeks. It comes with a charger that plugs in to the wall socket, though I am currently moving house but so have never plugged it in..

The public charging sockets have a “socket” similar to the car in the side, but I can’t seem to find a cable that would link the two - how and where do people get these from? Do you need to carry it around with you?

Er, didn’t they give you one with the car?

And yes, you have to carry it round.

They give you a wall charger (often called a granny charger) for home use then you buy a public one (type 2).

I’ve chucked my Mini Hybrid back so have a charger going spare if you want to make me an offer?

You'd think given the relatively high cost of a 530e that they would throw in both types of cable when the car was new. My Mercedes C350e came with both types of cables from new.
