At last (playing catch up on car announcements!) Skoda have announced a PHEV Superb, available as an drive train option across whole range.

I was wondering what is was going to replace my diesel superb estate with, and I think we have a winner!

12kwh battery 45 mile range 115bhp electric motor, based in the Passat PHEV drivetrain, mated with the 150bhp 1.4tsi.

Should be interesting if they get the pricing right.

My lease expires end of April 2019, so hoping the timing works and there introductory lease offers!

That Passat drivetrain is rather nice. The best hybrid drivetrain I've experienced/driven.

The Passat and Golf both quote an electric range of 31 miles. What are Skoda doing differently to bump this up to 45?

This'll be popular with mini cabbers.

Yup, it's half the capacity of 24kwh leaf so will expect 35 in real life usage. Which will be great for a weekends pottering around. And the slow bits of my current 80 miles each way commute
