After 8 months its been sold by whoever Renault sold it to after the lease - how do I know? I get a email every time it charges and ends redface)

Will delete the app but they are getting circa 60 ish miles daily between charges which is pretty good (it says battery 100% you can travel x miles)

Out of interest (and partly because I'm still toying with getting one for my wife..) did you have any issues with it?

I've read of a couple of nasty faults (some people have waited over a month for repairs..).

If you're feeling like a bit of fun - you could remotely stop the charge every time they start one - wonder if Renault would ever find the cause!!!

I've got one, and it's been pretty good.

Did have a light come on on the dash a couple of times for an electrical fault, but this was the 12v "normal" battery for running the lights etc - it seems it only charges this when "running", not when plugged in to charge the car itself, so a week or so where the car hadn't been used except for being moved around my driveway had upset it, much as if you did the same kind of start/stop without a run in a regular car. Can't really blame that on anything specific to it being an EV, it'd happen to anything treated like that.

Other than that, it's been pretty much a does-what-it-says-on-the-tin job.

We did 10k in 2 years, don't expect the AC to be logical, it's not broken just hard to actually use! Apart from that no drama no hassle apart from me reversing it at speed into a skip on our path! The collection guy didn't pick up on it!

^ Thanks, I'd read that the heating and A/C were weak, to be expected I guess..

It's only reports of unreliability that's putting me off to be honest. I'm also looking at the hybrid Yaris but they just don't interest me as much as the Zoe does.

I had one for 2 years 18k miles or so.

Was fine and I would have had another if the same deal was around at the point the lease ended

They're a bit poor in Eco mode, but I find them fine normally.

Will have had one for 2 years in April. Replacing it with the new model.

Current Zoe is my wifes commuter car and work fine for that, she loves it.

Great spec for the price, only costs in 2 years have been the service.

I'm probably overthinking things here, I've read of a few charging issues along with a few issues where people have been stranded with a dash caption of 'STOP Electric Failure DANGER'.

After 4 years of faultless Jazz ownership my wife would be annoyed (at me initially) if she were to be stranded in a Zoe...

I'd have gone ape-st if that had happened in any new car. You'd expect an electric car to be more reliable than an ICE; what was the reason?

Why would you expect an ICE car to be be unreliable? Electric Renault is still a Renault.

True. I'd expect an electric motor in itself to be more reliable than a petrol engine, purely on the grounds of fewer moving parts to potentially go wrong. Unfortunately these days it's the myriad of surrounding parts and electronics that seem to cause more problems rather than the oily bits.

I did and was on first name terms with Renault customer care agents! The battery was replaced a couple of weeks in (2 of the breakdowns and it was away for 3 weeks), the second two were apparently caused by a locking charge cable port pin that was faulty, never had any issues charging so not convinced but it has been fine since. The problem was my wife loved the car when it was reliable and now it seems to be sorted it is great. Lease runs out in a few months so it will be going back. Now I have to work out what to get temporarily while waiting for a Model 3...
