Is there an electric car for my commute?
Discussion
I'm currently commuting 45 miles each way. 35ish of that is fast A road where I'd like to do speeds which are a good fraction of the legal limit.
Work are trying to increase electric car uptake so there's free charging and reasonable lease deals on anything electric. I would love it if I could do all (or the vast majority) of charging at work. Possible? What are my options?

Well, I've been doing a 30 mile each way commute for nearly 18 months in a 30kWh Leaf. It's mostly rural single carriageway A road NSL, with villages with lower limits every so often. Most journeys are basically free flowing traffic at speeds approaching the limits.
My worst monthly consumption has been 0.30kWh/mile (3.33 miles/kWh) and my best month 0.22kWh/mile (4.54 miles/kWh).
I believe the usable charge is about 28kWh, meaning that my effective range has been between 93 miles and 127 miles per charge.
Without charging at work your journey would therefore probably be marginal under the worst conditions and comfortable under the best. With charging it would simply be no issue.
On this basis, pretty much any mainstream current EV would work for you.
