Hello all,

Spoken to a couple of dealers and they told me that currently they are ALL, nationwide, offering £13k deposit contribution and 1.8%APR if you go that route (pcp/hp)

I have seen threads, admittedly from over 8+ months ago where people were being offered 0% and/or £25k off list. Has anyone got any recent experiences of discounts and offerings?

Thanks in advance

I would spec your desired car up on one of the online broker sites and see what dealers have to offer. I am sure there is more money than £13k to be had on one of these.

Possible interior and electronic upgrades coming very soon according to various websites. Might be worth holding out for Frankfurt motor show next month to see what's coming.

I think it was about this time last year, possibly September, after an overnight test drive of an i8, I was offered circa £18 off list and 0% for an existing pre built i8.

There appeared to be a few to choose from an I was able to get my desired colour/interior combo with all desirable extras (to be fair there are very few options to pick from).

I heard later that some dealers offered up to £25, but I took that with a pinch of salt as I haggled quite hard (four for the gourd?, you must be mad) but couldn't get much over their original offer.

Hope this helps, one year later, the novelty still hasn't worn off.

Given there's a big update around the corner, save 40k and buy a used one. You'll lose 3k a year and not 12k in depreciation.

I hope you told them where to go with their paltry £25?

I'll be buying it through my company so makes sense to buy new. Even at £50k they're not really something I'd consider but as a company car, low BIK and the fact that most of my 12,000 miles a year and parking is in and around London, it will work. Yes, I could get an i3 or a Leaf, but they look, well, challenging. At best.

I'll keep asking dealers and also try a broker as suggested.

Thanks all.

Yes, thank you. They did have quite a few in stock but said no more discount for these either ?! Hmm. I will have to haggle harder I think.

Hi

I ordered a new i8 in May for delivery on September 1st (only 10 days to go now!).

I did try quite a few brokers and dealers the length of the country, but my local dealer in Glasgow was the one that eventually got my business. The deal for that quarter was £13,300 deposit contribution from BMW. I ended up signing a deal that gave me an additional £2300 off, with a few extras thrown in (public charge point cable etc.).

I was under the impression that all new UK i8s are factory build with a 14 week lead time - especially if you decide to tick a few boxes on the options list. This may well have changed in the last few months of course... I'm not sure however, that BMW dealers have a huge amount of scope for 'i' car discounts due to the way they are retailed direct from BMW UK. Again, this may not be entirely accurate, so i'm happy to be corrected if it's not the case.

Hope this helps anyway.

This was from May, with 1.8% APR.

"Good Evening

Hope you are ok.

I am sending you this email as you have previously enquired on the BMW i8 with me at Sytner Sheffield.

BMW have made a small number of physical Protonic Blue i8’s available to us for immediate delivery, with these selected vehicles BMW are offering a massive deposit contribution of £16,300.

To take advantage of this great offer from BMW UK the vehicles have to be purchased before 31/05/17 and registered before 30/06/2017.

If you are interested in any of these vehicles please let me know ASAP as I envisage they will not be around for long.

This is a great opportunity not to be missed if you are in the market. These cars are not pre-registered or used cars, they are brand new vehicles.

Kind regards

Jamie"

Thanks both.

It seems they they don't have any extra leeway on the deposit contribution front which gets set by the i department or whomever. 4 dealers have now all said the same thing re discount.

Let's see what happens...I'm in no rush. Also tempted to wait for the Roadster...

That would be a conundrum though. i8 works because I can take the kids out and it would be the family car too at the weekends. The Roadster means just me so the Sagaris would have to be sold...eek

May I ask which boxes you ticked? (The comfort access is very nice, I had to be talked into it, I'm glad I went for it now.)

How much are these now? I must admit when I looked into buying one I thought they were just silly money when compared to the Tesla S AWD.

Slower, tiny rear seats, less storage, more money, less range, no free supercharger, etc..........I couldn't really find a pro vs con against the Tesla (maybe nicer interior).

No doubt I'll get a barrage of abuse now smile

I test drove a Tesla and yes, as an all electric car it's a totally different proposition to the i8. But for me interior was hugely disappointing and it looks incredibly bland.

For me the i8 is just way cooler and looks brilliant. And those doors...lick

Hi All, Not been on here for quite some time, and cant quite beleive my first New post is about Hybrid cars! ( Id betta think about a change of username too now! ) well, i purchased an i8 yesterday, from the above memtioned Jamie at Sheffield, whom i have to say, was excellent! Ive just purchased one of the limited edition protonic editions, and although im not really willing to tell you the exact deal i got from Jamie, he managed to get deal over the line that another "i" dealer quoted me an extra! ( wait for it!!!!! ) £30k more!!!!! Wtf! So, i have two suggestions, deals like the above mentioned are still about!!! And speak to Jamie at sytner Sheffield! The two other dealers i spoke with in Essex should have there "i" Accreditations removed! Or re train their staff!!! Im putting car through work, so this really works for me! Well happy with the price/deal! 👍👍
