Hi all, does the Tesla referral scheme give £750 off both new and used cars? Or is it just new?

If it's used cars too, can someone send me one? About to place an order for a Model S tomorrow.

Cheers.

I believe it is valid only for new cars.

Feel free to try my referral code ( richard7249 ) in case it works for used.

There are some good PCP deals at the moment ( 1.49%) and the showroom models count as new, with regards to referral codes and PCP deals.

Richard

New and inventory cars (i.e. Tesla pre registered and stock cars including their demonstrators but not general used cars owned by others). There are significant discounts on inventory cars.

All the Model S cars for sale are in here, pick the filters you want. The URLs dont Siri, but it shouldn't be too hard to find the cars once you know they exist.

It's really not worth buying a custom order if there's an inventory car close to the right spec, not only do you get it quicker, it will save you £££££ and you can inspect it before taking delivery as the build quality isn't great at the moment.

A buyers guide plus my referral code can be found here

http://tesla.savemylegs.com

Including this...

http://tesla.savemylegs.com/forsale.html

Which includes a table of the rough depreciation over the last month based on average advertised sale price.

Do your research first!

Brilliant, thanks Johnny. Do you work for Tesla or something? How come you can access that page?

Also, just seen that the referrer also gets a nice bonus - a £600 electric kids tesla! Having had my 2 in the kids car yesterday, I'll expect some kind of deal tongue out

With the recent performance upgrade, do you think there will be more discounts on pre-upgrade inventory cars?

Didn't all cars get the performance upgrade? Via an 'over the air' software update?

No, hardware too - there's another thread on that.

No I don't work for them, but have been an active follower for over 2 years and an owner since Dec 15. There are various sources of info regarding used cars etc. My "mission" is to try and present the facts as unbiased as I can - when I first followed Tesla they were all massive fanboys - they'd let Elon father their children if they could (both the men and women) and it was pretty unhealthy. Its becoming more balanced but there's still a lot of bias. That's not to say the car isn't good, its just not without fault. And every software update is a sense of adventure in what will break as a result.

1 referral gets a toy car, when you get to 4 and 5 you're getting alloys and power walls, but I'm still waiting for rewards I earn't last year so don't hold your breath sadly!

Your website is really informative - thank you.

On used prices it seems that there's been a big drop in prices in the last month - c.20% in some cases. Is that Tesla just marking down quoting prices?

Also does the 'price is the price and no discount' apply to used cars as well as new or will they haggle on used stock?

I'll be buying one soon but as will be sticking c 20,000 miles a year on one I'll probably go secondhand and hopefully take less of a hit over buying new.

Yes, tesla have knocked a lot off recently, no more than reprising to more sensible levels when you consider they were virtually asking the same for a 2 year old 85 as a new 75 which are virtually identical in performance.

I still haven't heard any stories of further negotiated discounts and trade in values are not generous, but no harm trying.

Tesla are now significantly limiting the number of cars they show on their web site, I'm partly working round that and have about 140 more cars, if you go in and try and buy I'd be interested in how you get on.
