Edit; Please move to car buying

Little bit boring for one of these threads I
know, but my Audi A3 is doing my head in. It's done 86k and is just giving me one problem after another, and although it may be cheaper to keep the Audi on the road, the trust is going and I'm sick of throwing money at it.

So I'm gonna bite the bullet, will get 4k for my Audi, and will take out a 6k bank loan to fund a new motor.

I want a family suitable car, but maybe something a little different.

Low mileage and reliability are top priority, I do less than 10k a year so diesel is not needed but I wouldn't say no to one. More than willing to do the odd long trip to keep a diesel running smoothly.

I want a car that's fairly new (under 5 year old), with mileage under or around 30k.

There's me, the girlfriend, her two kids (9 and 6), and a baby to fit in. So a nice boot would be nice, especially come holiday time.

So far I've had the following ideas but have not looked into them much:

Subaru outback, legacy, forester
Hyundai i40 saloon

Open to all suggestions.

Mondeo would be a go to option but they are a bit common

I've figured I can stretch my budget to 12000 for a car that will last.

I've now ruled out the Hyundai i40, I sat in one and it felt like a cheap piece of crap.

I test drove a Mazda Mazda 6, 13 plate, really really nice. A estate version of this might be a good bet, they do exist with low ish mileage within my budget.

I've had a quick look at a saloon honda accord 62 plate, doesn't seem to be as much room as the Mazda, but reliability should be top notch. It's also 9k with 52k on clock from a main honda dealer, which is a bargain if you ask me.

There's a Subaru outback in budget with under 50k mileage, but it's the world's worse colour with ugly wheels to match. I'm going to go test drive it in the morning.

Any other ideas?
