I'm not sure if I'd go that far. The thing ICE cars still have at the moment is range at speed for a reasonable price- but time is certainly ticking!
It started off with electric cars being fast in a drag race, but that's about it.
Then the range much increased under normal driving conditions IF you can afford it.
Now you can buy a PROPERLY fast car (not just in a straight line), with interchangeable batteries but cost and exclusivity is a problem.
Next will be Range AND value.

Impressive time.
I would be more impressed if i could go on holiday somewhere and not have to constantly worry where I am getting my next charge from.
Range of electric cars is not good enough and charge time is too slow.
I got stuck in a traffic jam for 7 hours once, with a child. If i was in an electric car charging his tablet, keeping the car warm for him i would have ended up stranded with flat batteries.
I have no doubt that they are going to be the next step, but def not the end of ICE and with out serious infrastructure and battery improvements it wont be the end of ICE for some time
