and here's the Readers Cars thread on it: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Wife has a '15 Gen 3 T spirit finished in "appliance white" , she loves it , I find it unoffensive and relaxing to drive , only real gripe is the ICE which is dire imo and not even as good as the COMAND system in my 2001 E Class was, a real shame.
Its in next week for the recall for the carbon canister , annoying that it couldn't be done during service as that was only last month
Its on around 20k now and been utterly reliable

I've got an Auris estate hybrid. It's a company car so technically I don't own it and it goes back in October.
And the same goes for me, except that mine goes back in January.Driving thrills are nonexistent, but as a work car and family car it's excellent. Smooth, quiet, comfy, effortless to drive, adequate performance for everyday driving (i.e. a little quicker than most 1.6 diesel cars of similar size), mine's the estate so it'll carry plenty of gear too. Averages about 54mpg, bit less in winter, bit more in summer.
Oh, and in just over 40000 miles it hasn't needed any attention beyond routine servicing and one pair of tyres on the front.

Does Lexus count?
Why not indeed! One thing I would say, and I know you asked about Toyota's is that whenever I get in a Prius it does seem very plasticy by any standard.
Depends if that kind of thing bothers you I guess but it does me.

Well, 50-55 mpg on a 40 mile daily commute. Spookily quiet, nice place to be in traffic.

Another Lexus owner here. CT 200h so the same drivetrain as the gen 3 Prius. One thing I would say, and I know you asked about Toyota's is that whenever I get in a Prius it does seem very plasticy by any standard.

That's lovely And the best colour combination too (IMHO).What model did you get?
I looked into it seriously, but:
- My Prius is not old enough to justify a change yet (could not get the man maths to work)
- Dealer said they were completely sold out, which meant a long waiting time and no discounts off list price
- The drivetrain and infotainment is the same as the Prius so I felt it would not be enough of a change for me. If they did a version with a more powerful drivetrain - maybe 4WD like the one in the RAV4 hybrid - I would reconsider.

That must be a new definition of lovely coming through - different maybe, but its the same styling we're seeing across Lexus and Honda
Sitting in the back its like being in a cave, those rear windows are even smaller on the inside - and why try to hide the rear door handles?
one review said if you put kids in there you'd have to keep stopping while they threw up, obviously no evidence to support that yet

I think it isn't aimed at families with young kids. The rear is claustrophobic as you say, and those funky rear door handles are too high for small children to reach. For that market Toyota have Verso, Yaris etc. - all normal looking cars with normal rooflines. I think this one is aimed at people without kids, probably young people, although I read somewhere that it had been a hit with the older crowd - maybe the combination of relatively compact size, raised driving position and Toyota reliability appeals to that sector?

Very nice , we were quite interested in the C-HR, my wife uses her Prius to commute and the higher seating position would make it better in the lanes She has taken against Toyota though in recent weeks so i feel the BMW i3 may well be the replacement for our Prius

My wife is replacing her GT86 with the C-HR Ltd Ed Hybrid on Tuesday.
Any tips or further thoughts a month on?
We had one small issue with a piece of plastic trim pealing away from the body but Toyota replaced it straight away.Any tips or further thoughts a month on?
Car runs great and my wife is averaging 63mpg on here daily commute to work 23 miles combined motorway and Edinburgh city center traffic so its good.
On a 40mile urban and rural drive I managed 77mpg but was being so cautious but mid 60's is achievable normal driving.

Thanks. She's really looking forward to it. It's been delayed as her personal plate retention certificate and revised V5 hasn't arrived for her GT86 yet.Car runs great and my wife is averaging 63mpg on here daily commute to work 23 miles combined motorway and Edinburgh city center traffic so its good.

I loved the look of it at Geneva 2016 and again this year. I wanted to replace my Panda with one but the mix of engines & transmissions seemed very odd.
Shocked my wife is chopping her year & a bit old fully loaded 86 for one but not that bothered as it means I've ordered a 180bhp Abarth 595 Competizione for the performance side of the drive
