Those nice people at Jaguar sent me a brochure on the i Pace concept. I had 'put my name down' when it was originally announced and as long as it delivers on the promise there is a good chance we'll get one.

It was pretty much the same information as they previously announced:

2 200PS motors
90 KW battery pack
700 NM torque
a big boot
lots of screens - broadly similar to the Panamera

They're still talking about 50kWh DC charging. We're starting to see 150 KWh fast charging being rolled out here in Switzerland and I'm guessing by the time it's delivered we'll have 350kWh chargers. 50kWh would be a show-stopper - it's OK for my i3 which mainly does local trips but I'd be planning to use an iPace as a main car.

I was hoping that they'd send me tickets for Geneva to go and see it in the flesh but unfortunately not.

Must admit I was quite taken with the I Pace concept. Best get myslef a copy of that brochure if I can......

(And at the risk of sounding all pedantic, I think you are mixing up kW and kWh- sorry)

I'm surprised at that, I got a stack of tickets last year I think BMW and Land Rover both sent me them unprompted. Generally if you call the dealer they'll send you some FoC as most have an allocation.

Where in CH are you based? There are very few charging points that I've seen anywhere around us (near Zürich) and I can't charge at home which puts me off an electric car at the moment.

Yes, I've generally had tickets sent by the dealers. Jaguar are of course imported by Emil Frey who I'm less than impressed about in general. I'll probably pop over to my local dealer and ask directly.

I'm currently in canton Zurich between Winterthur & Frauenfeld. There are a couple of great DC chargers in Winterthur, both of which are free. At the tennis centre, just off the motorway at the Töss junction there are 2 bays. There's a 4 bay one at DMG Mori near Oberwinterthur which I believe is 100% solar powered with a field of panels and a battery the size of a shipping container on site.

Longer trips aren't really possible because of the current lack of DC charging. Going into Germany is a complete disaster for well-positioned DC charging. My guess is that Switzerland and Germany will catch up soon given how many cars Tesla is selling here.

We're just about to move, I think to the Engadin. I'm not sure the i3 will be much use there. Getting over the Julier on one charge would be hard. I don't know how -25 degree mornings would work with the battery range, it seemed to really suffer at -10.

Yes, I don't think the i3 is designed for -25 degrees! I'm in Horgen and there's no charging here that I'm aware of around here, in theory there are a couple but only regular sockets.

I'm not a fan of Emil Frey either, I bought my Range Rover from one of the other dealers as they couldn't be bothered to reply to emails. I'm sure they'll still send you some tickets though, if you get a Gemeinde Tageskarte it's a pretty cheap trip too.

I too would be very disappointed if was 50kW max. I'm sure I read that they'll be aiming for 100+, though here in the U.K. Only Tesla does that speed.

There's a good chance future JLR product will get 350kW charging options at some point, as they're a member of the CharIn Initiative: http://www.charinev.org/members/our-members/
