Starting to see more and more EVs around these days!
Discussion
Sales of ZOE have picked up again for me; sold 3 of the new ones with the 40kw battery in the last week.
One of my customers was telling me that the guy who installed their charge point was saying that Chargemaster are flat out installing charge points.
I work within the M25 and live just out of it, EV's have been a fairly common sight for me for a number of years.

The site to look at for European sales numbers is EAFO As you'll see many cars have been experiencing 50% sales growth which is pretty unheard of. I analysed Swiss car figures a few years ago and most cars see the biggest sales close to their launch and then they tail off. They get another sales-bump at mid-life refresh.
Here in Switzerland the Tesla Model S (the clear market leader for BEVs) was a bit down in 2016 compared to 2015 though they sold 402 Model Xs. In fact the total market for most BEVs and PHEV was down a bit as was the overall market. Hence it seems like (for now) the Swiss market for EVs has for now hit a plateau.
Of course, even with a stable sales market the stock of EVs on the road will be going up. Certainly the Tesla here is a common car. Sales have been almost on par with the E-class / A6 / 5 series and about 4x of the XF.

Where I used to work (and hopefully will be working again) the car park front had about 8 bays for charging. All full. Every day. Its a good mix too, mostly PHEVs (350e, 330e, Golf GTE) but there are some BEV vehicles too. If you go for a walk at lunch time you'll find another charging zone rammed with Leafs and a few i3s.
Even in my (rapidly expanding) village, there are a couple of people tooling round in ZOEs and yesterday an old boy rocked up to Co-Op in his brand new Tesla Model S 85kWh.
It would be pretty much a dream for me to be able to afford an electric vehicle and to cover the vast, south facing roof of my house with solar PV. Reckon motoring would be pretty cheap then! (my house has an asymmetric roof and the significantly larger side is south facing).

Tesla Model S is the most popular company car in The Netherlands There are so many here I barely bat an eyelid when I see one now! Compared to ICE cars, there are massive tax breaks which is why they have become so popular.
Hong Kong had loads as well. Every time you turned to look around there'd be a Tesla S in view. I do wonder where people charge them up though because I never saw a single charge point or super charger!Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
