Whilst topping up the screen wash on our Leaf today I popped out the two panels at either end of the windscreen drain panel to see if anything was blocked. The passenger side was fine, but on the driver's side the suspension top mount was sat in a permanent pool of water. Basically all the water off the windscreen seems designed to pour directly onto the suspension turret. The bolt on the top of the shock looked like it has been in the sea for two years.

I cleared out the drain at the bottom of the wiper, which may help a bit, but it looks like a shocking bit of design, perhaps limited to RHD cars. I guess shocks are ultimately consumable items anyway but it still seems a bit brain dead to build them this way. Could be worth a look if you have one...

Maybe a nissan thing as my wife's note suffers from exactly the same problem.
I have placed some plastic over the top of each strut and secured with elastic bands.
