Handing the Zoe back
Discussion
I thought I would start a thread as its slightly more complex than normal.
You get two letters one for the battery and one for the car.
The battery letter does not have the correct option, it has Transfer to a 3rd party, renew the lease and PX or sell your car to a dealer.
I queries this with RCI to be told to write on the form that I am handing it back and that will be ok.
Now it gets slightly more complicated and may just be me - my battery lease ends 16/1 the car lease 16/2 - they are getting back to me on that one ............................

I haven't a clue as to the battery issue when the term is a year longer than the car
I took it to be that the battery was a month shorter - 16th Jan vs 16th Feb.Quite where that'd leave you if you left the car lease to the end, gawd alone knows. With an ornament, probably.

Sorry yes it is, however I am curious to find out what happens when the battery lease is a year longer than the car lease, I know there are some who have this set up.
I'm in that situation (2yr Car and 3yr Battery) and will be looking to hand the car back early... My paperwork does state that after 18mths there is no penalty but it seems nothing is ever simple with RCI so I'll see what happens in a couple of months.nutey said:

I'm also in that situation, I can see a lot of DD's being reversed while they sort it outnutey said:

I've not heard anything official though.

I read that as the 'new' 22kwh is less powerful (57kw) and the 41kwh model has the same power as the current cars (65kw)?
As much as more power is always welcome I think the current car is absolutely fine for what it is. I'm interested to understand if the extra kwh come from increased power density or from added cells and what the weight difference is.

I handed mine back early via VT, the rentals on the 36 month battery lease were waived as I had paid half, the car had also been 50% paid as they include the government contribution so it was less than the last 6 rentals.
Great car, would have kept it if the range was more than 70 miles in winter!

I still have mine. It is due to go back 15 Jan but is over its mileage and hasn't been used since the end of Sep due to the extortionate excess mileage costs
And the i3 that has replaced it is better
I have rung Renault a few times to try to get them to come and get it early. They don't seem keen / bothered to do so.
I jokingly said to the guy I spoke to yesterday that it probably wasn't worth them even sending someone to come and fetch it given how little it is worth these days. He said "you are not far off the truth"

Mine is due back 2nd Feb which is 25months of use. Which is confusing as it was a 24month contract?
When I got the letter from renault about options to buy or hand back I wrote a separate letter requesting termination of the battery contract on the same date. I'll be cancelling the direct debits early Jan.
I've got a kia soul EV on order to replace it. From what I can gather they're a small step up in size and quality from the Zoe but it's been a great car. Range is ste at the moment though.... 50miles on the GOM.
