what to replace the Zoe with?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Quite a few of us picked up a Zoe on silly PCP deals in late 2014. Many were on 2 year deals, as ours is, so are due to go back in a few months time.
We're starting to think about a replacement and struggling a little. The main contender is a Yeti as we could do with a more more space. So, out of curiosity, what are you folk going to do come chop in time? I assume nobody is planning on purchasing as the balloon is around double the value of the car (or triple based on WBAC quotes!).

Renault are going to have hundreds of these appearing over the next few months, all worth a significant sum less than their MFV's.
At a dealer conference recently it was suggested to us dealers that we do the right thing by Renault and take them back in as part exchanges as opposed telling people to hand them back; err yeahh right we'll take the £3k hit, not you!!
ZOE sales for us have stalled somewhat, the revised (read substantially lower) MFV figures are making them not so much of a bargain on PCP, as they once were.

Yeah, the 2014 deals never made any financial sense to anyone but the customer, but I had assumed that Renault just wanted exposure / presence of the car on the road to increase their profile in the electric car market. Renault are simply going to have to take the hit on them; Renault finance set the GFV after all.

I believe, in the UK at least, Renault lose money on every ZOE; electric has to work for Renault so yes it was to get them out there and to get exposure, they are in electric for the long haul; short term hurt for long term gain.ZOE has also got people through the door that normally wouldn't take a second glance at Renault, I have sold them to extremely wealthy people, ok in the future they probably won't buy a Renault for themselves, however if they have had a positive experience with a ZOE, they may well look at a Twingo or Clio for their kids.
It'll be interesting to see what is next for electric with Renault.

I'm in the same position in that mine goes back in January. I've enjoyed the experience and would have another EV if I could get a similarly good PCP deal. Have contemplated buying another Zoe or a Leaf outright, but half fancy a bit of a change.Quite a few of us picked up a Zoe on silly PCP deals in late 2014. I might go down the shed route and get a cheap Volvo V70 for a while as it's a bit more dog and bike friendly that the Zoe has been. I'll definitely miss it though.

Merc B250 is rare but appears on the lease thread at about £4200 over 2 years, better car etc
We're ok till March and things may have changed by then.
Thanks to DSLiverpool’s post on another thread I’ve just ordered a B250e. Works out about the same leasing the Mercedes as my Leaf - £4607 over two years. We're ok till March and things may have changed by then.
Shame it hasn't got rapid charging but I fancied something different after having two Leafs

Hi Jimsco, when are you expecting delivery on the Merc? My Leaf didn't arrive until March, so too early for me to 'pull' any 'triggers' on a lease, but also keen not to avoid a good deal and end up paying £1k per year extra.Shame it hasn't got rapid charging but I fancied something different after having two Leafs
The Merc looks great if you can live with the limited range and lack of fast charging, neither of which bother me.

Had to be registered this month so I get it delivered on the 30th - too early for me too but I didn't want to miss the deal. I suspect they want to get rid now before the announcement of a long range Mercedes at the Paris motorshow. Doubt the new one will be this cheap though.
Hi, could you let me know where you found the MB Electric Drive offer and is it still available? I can't seem to find it.ooo000ooo said:
Is there any point in asking Renault to extend the contract for another year? IIRC when I got mine it was a 2 year lease on the car but a 3 year lease on the battery for some weird reason?
I'm going to ask this soon. I'd happily keep the Zoe for the run of the 4 year warranty at the current rate. dave_s13 said:

I would imagine that the only option available to you would be HP on the balloon payment.
