I was just browsing AT and noticed that there were about 8 Nissan Leafs (Leaves? hehe) and 4 Zoes for sale. Where are all the used ones?

Also, if you buy a used one how does the battery lease work? What if I buy one and just say 'sod it', I'm not leasing the battery?

Nobody sensible will sell you one without you signing a lease for the battery.

Liability technically rests with the previous owner, but legally it is messy. Ownership of the battery remains with RCI.

Nissan have sold more new Leafs in the last 2 years than in the 4 years proceeding and most are on a lease/contract hire so the amount in the used market is still pretty small.

The majority of Leaf's are sold WITHOUT a battery lease. Look for the term FLEX in the description. If they are a flex model then they have a battery lease which is tied to the chassis for life. The upside is you get a life time warranty, the down side is you have to pay £70+pm, which cancels the savings for most people.

Given how they have depreciated I think the Generation 2 Leafs with owned batteries make a great used buy. I can't think of a cheaper car to run.

Just paid £9k for a 15 plate with 12k. Will pay for itself in 4 years.

They really are Incredible value for money, I also think the depreciation with slow down as more people switch on to EV.

379 Leaf(s) for sale and 87 Zoes - LOTS will be on 2 year leases expiring in January as the first batch of stonking deals was Dec 2014 so expect a flood.
Typically we will he handing back a mint zoe with 9k on and my Leaf with 6k on - what we replace them with is still up for grabs BUT Volt / Ampera may be my weapon of commute as its such a good tool.
