I'm off on holiday for a couple of weeks and I'm not sure whether to leave the i8 connected to the Wallbox while I'm away or disconnect it.

It's in a garage.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I have always left my EV plugged in when not used. It can do no harm and will ensure it's topped up when you're back

should be okay.. electronics will prevent it from over charging. If regular then why not install a timer ? would give you peace of mind.

I left it plugged in to the wallbox whist away and it was fine.

It's not possible to have a timer. It's a big huge BMW sealed box wired straight to the fuse box. 32 Amp feed I beleive!! :-o

I was more worried in case it developed a fault and fried something!! I generally go around unplugging everything when away! Although I have always left CTEK chargers plugged in on my cars whilst away. The Wallbox is a more meaty device to leave powered up!!
