I was wondering if anyone owns or has driven a Tesla X ?
Discussion
Hi
I was wondering if any body owns or has driven a Tesla X ?
I had thought about buying an i3 BMW for my wife but as BMW and I are not really on the best of terms and the fact they may rig the car to explode while I'm driving it! I have decided regardless of how good their products are I won't be handing them over any of my hard earned cash!
Which leaves me with the decission what else do I get? With the recent publicity and popularity of the Tesla 3 I expect the wait to be quite high so was wondering if anyone has driven the Tesla X ? Or owns one ?
I Can't make up my mind whether I like those doors or not.

I'm always a little puzzled by these posts... Shall I buy a 35k i3 or a 105k tesla model X
I know there's not that much choice on the market but isn't it a bit like saying "not sure if a diesel Audi TT is quick enough so might buy an R8"
The model X has also not been talked about much and few are getting excited. It's more a competitor for the X5 eDrive thing but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone talking about which to get.

I was about to purchase a Model S and ended up with an i3. If I hadn't been too slow to decide on a demonstrator I'd be in a Tesla now. In the end neither car was perfect. The i3 obviously is less powerful, doesn't have the range and I'm less than impressed with the software. The Tesla was too big for comfort - my garage is 5m long and the local roads can be narrow.
We don't all spend as much as we can on motoring. A few years ago I lived opposite one of the top 50 richest people in the world and his wife drove around in a mini.
I saw a Model X in the 'flesh' in LA a few months ago...and it was a bit of a let down. Without the fancy doors been open it just looks like another over sized SUV(which seems to be what the market wants). It certainly didn't look any nice than a S, and bare in mind the price tag of the Model X I saw a $120K+, for me its just not worth the asking price.
Also no UK price has also been announced, but the 'base spec' 75D is $85K with leather seats, a $85K Model S costs £75K here in the UK, so expect prices to start at around £75K - And remember unlike other manufactures Tesla don't do discounts off the list price, not a single penny, in fact prices of the S have GONE UP 20% here in the UK in the last 6 months.
As pointed out above it's probably the total opposite car to an i3, apart form both been electric, its like comparing a Mini to a Range Rover. One is light, small, cheap(ish), the other is one of the widest and longest cars on the road, weighs close to 2.5tons, and cost nearly the same as a small house (London excluded).
If you have the cash and prepared to wait till Sep/Oct time for the first RHD X to appear, go for it....otherwise wait for the updated i3. BMW is going to increase the battery size by 50% some time this year.

I was expecting the price to be around the give or take a bit the exchange rate so had the $ 100,000ish dollars at around 65-75k £
She went from a vogue sc to an A3 and would like to go back up in size. But the A3 does the job ! I think the Tesla 3 would be fine but with over 250,000 orders when will you get one?

A $85K Model S in the US icurrently sells for about £70k here in the UK. Forget exchange rates, look at actual pricing of the cars. I'm sure the X will sell well, even at £70K starting prices it's Range Rover territory. If you have the cash go for it, all the reviews so far have been very positive .Beati Dogu said:
