Tesla Model 3 revealed
Discussion
Not sure what time tomorrow Pistonheads will post their article on it but for those who are keen... even the base spec will have a sub 6 second 0-60 and have a 200 mile range. Couple of interesting design features, the entire roof's glass and there's no instrument cluster in front of the driver. Car Magazine article's probably got the best photos:

I'm sure this is the car that will establish Tesla and their electric car ethos into the mainstream market. The model S has obviously been successful but it's pricey and in my eyes a bit too big.
If they get even within 5k of the £25k price they will fly off the shelves, what with your average 1 series costing c£20k and this is a spaceship by comparison. It's a car you'd genuinely imagine owning and using in the UK
Good luck to them.

Those who have an issue with the iPad stuck on the Merc dash are going to have a fit if these pictures are to be believed: http://jalopnik.com/tesla-model-3-this-is-it-17682.... Awful, but presumably a lot cheaper than conventional switches/buttons.
I think it looks fantastic. I knew people would moan about the flat screen panel but to me it looks a lot more elegant than the one in the Model S, plus it fits in with the design of the interior, it doesn't look as incongruous as the Merc offerings.
I was telling my wife about these last night and we agreed as long as it doesn't look crap we're having one. Looks like we'll be signing up!

I think this car - if it really comes as announced - has the potential to completely redefine the automotive industury as a whole. The rear wheel driven (!) base model has 5 doors, lots of room, two trunks, 0-60 in 5.x seconds, a large panoramic glass roof, 15" monitor with navigation and constant software updates. All standard. Meanwhile old car companies are still trying to charge £5000 for an extra 20 Bhp or £1500 for an outdated 8" Nav or £150 for floormats. In a nasty FWD hatch.
Feels like Nokia vs the iPhone all over again.

I think Tesla are going to do very, very well with this and rightly so tbf.
Their biggest problem will be building them quick enough to meet demand.I think the 'single touchscreen' dashboard design will become much more common across other vehicles as it must be cheaper to manufacture and install than 10s of single switches and knobs on a traditional dash.
This is the real birth of the electric car as a viable product. If it does what they say it will (and given the Model S and X then I don't believe there will be a problem with that) then it's the first electric car that isn't an oddity and can truly be seen as a rival to "normal" cars.
It's not often that the phrase "game changer" can be used without a hint of irony. This is one of those times.
