Ready to Bite the Bullet...
Discussion
...on a Tesla Model S P90D.
Been following it for a number of months now, managed a test drive last week and going to place the order. Decided to buy it via the company and use it as my company car, although I do have Diesel/Petrol in the fleet at home - very interested to see how my life can manage travelling/visiting clients on a weekly basis.
Who else has got one? Happy with it?

Hi,
Did exactly the same as you a while back and took delivery of my P90D at the beginning of this year as a replacement company car for my diesel Jag.
So far very happy with it, although you do have to plan a tiny bit more on long journeys for Supercharger charging. Like you I also have a fleet of petrol and diesel cars in the home 'fleet' which means I'm not forced to take the Tesla. Having said that, I haven't driven any of them in the past month and that includes my beloved DB9, so that might give you an idea of how much I'm loving the Tesla experience!
When does yours arrive? Mine took around 3 months.

P85+ owner and very pleased with it too! Was sold on the concept as soon as I drove a friends' 85, and took delivery a few months later.
It's not the only vehicle in the household, but so far I haven't needed to take a petrol/diesel vehicle over the Tesla due to range concerns. The nav guides you via supercharging points on your route anyway, you just need to allow an extra 20-30mins here and there for a top-up, which is hardly a chore.
AutoPilot is a breeze too - did a full 47 miles down the M40 last night solely on AutoPilot without any intervention from me, it's so relaxing to drive distances in

I agree, if you can afford it it is worth going P90D - although having said that, the 90D has the most range, at a claimed 340 miles.
Interestingly, I see Tesla have now dropped the 85kW battery cars completely, on the UK site you can only choose between:
- 70
- 70D
- 90D
- P90D
Makes sense really, do you want a quick car with good range, a very quick car with better range or a mentally quick car with very good range?
Having said that, I'm very happy with my P85+, it has decent range, plenty of power and I like the fact that it is RWD, it keeps things (very) entertaining!
I'll probably put a deposit down on a Model 3 in March, and whatever P90D-equivalent of that comes out I'll get, subject to the technology and equipment levels being up there with Model S. Let's see! I doubt I will sell my Model S, though, will probably keep both.

Its not surprising they've dropped the 85 option. Tesla are expecting a 7-10% range improvement year on year, so the 85 has become the 90 as the range topper.Interestingly, I see Tesla have now dropped the 85kW battery cars completely, on the UK site you can only choose between:

As I understand it most people were opting for 90 these days.

I think I'd add P90DL to the list and given how relatively little the ludicrous option is compared to the price uplift of the P90D over the 90D for what you get, if you're biting the bullet you may as well go all the way- 70

Ludicrous mode is still an £8,700 option, and only really affects the off-the-line acceleration (i.e. reducing the 0-60 from 3.1s to 2.8s). Once on the move, that fancy fuse doesn't really come into play and roll-on is similar to the standard 90D, as I understand it.Mike_C said:

I am so excited to get it, the model I ordered was:
Model S P90D
In Solid White
Panaromic Roof
21" Grey Turbine Alloys
Speed Upgrade
Premium Upgrade
Autopilot
Smart Air Suspension
Ultra High Fideilty Sound
Sub Zero Weather Package
Really looking forward to getting my hands on it, been averaging 2,500 - 3,000 miles per month and fully expect to use the Tesla for this. I recently moved from Scotland back to England (Near York) so nearest centre is Manchester.
How is everyone finding theirs?
