Zoe excess mileage - what am I missing?
Discussion
Got two quotes on a Zoe 2 year PCP deal today:-
7,500 miles - £185.53 and £95 deposit
12,000 miles - £221.59 and £95 deposit
Was quoted 16p per mile excess mileage.
Over the course of the two years, the difference in cost between the 7,500 and 12,000 mile contracts is £865 (or £36 a month)
But if I opt for the 7,500 mile contract and do 12,000 miles, the excess mileage charge would be £720 (or £30 a month)
It seems to be £145 cheaper to opt for the lower mileage limit and pay the excess. Admittedly not a huge saving, but assuming an approximate overnight recharging cost of 3.5p per mile, that pays for over 4,000 miles of motoring!
Can this be right? What am I missing?

4500 miles extra per annum is £720.00 per year or £60.00 per month.
