Land's End to John O'Groats electric car records
Discussion
Thanks everyone,
To answer the questions:
we set off at 2:05pm on Sunday 4th October from Lands end having charged the battery fully. We then travelled through the night to arrive at John O'Groats at 9:51am the next morning. We recharged at the following Tesla super chargers:
Exeter, Birmingham, Warrington, Gretna Green, Edinburgh
We did a final limited charge at Tain on a fast public charger using an adaptor.
We drove using the adaptive cruise control which helped us remain at legal speeds throughout the journey.
We were in range mode but used the Eco climate control. Frankly we were comfortable throughout the whole journey. We alternated driving, swapping over at each recharge point.
We stayed overnight at the Seaview hotel, charged fully at the new public charging point there and repeated the journey back to Lands End
We had no support from a third party although many people were really helpful on the way, particularly on signing our forms for certificates, a special mention is needed for the staff at the Royal Hotel at Tain who provided refreshments and donated to The Alzheimer's Society which I have been collecting for on various challenges including this one.
Finally record verification: we have a Garmin digital record of the trip which was witnessed by many on Live Track , sorry PHs that I did not publish the links - we had a lot on our mind. We collected signatures to verify start and stop time which have been accepted by the End to End club.

Ooo I get my car at Christmas and I might take it on! I wonder if I can get to the chargers near Leeds rather than divert into birmingham with the extra range of the 90D!
Fair play to you though
I hope you enjoy yours as much as my son and I have enjoyed ours in the few weeks we have had it. You should get better range, but we didn't have range anxiety. We did look at Leeds but settled on Birmingham. I wish you luck if you do attempt it. It was great fun. Fair play to you though
