I am driving my 6 year old Mitsubishi I-MiEV electric car (range 55 miles - yes 55) from Birmingham to Lands End then to Aberdeen (as close as I can get to John O'Groats with that range and UK charger network) then back to Birmingham. This is prior to me cycling the whole distance from Lands End to John O'Groats.I am doing this in support of Alzheimer's society so if you want to know more please have a look at

Thank you for your attention.

I've thought of doing it as a speed trial (not breaking the speed limit - that would be illegal and Guinness wouldn't allow it), but trading off the variables.

Do you go for faster road speed and more charges or extend the range to the max at slower speed with less charges?

Has a record been set yet?

Guess where I was yesterday?...

I run on 33% vegetable oil. I hope that counts as "Alternative Fuel" and is OK for this forum, if not this thread smile.

I'll call an ambulance. You seem to have crashed into the services on the M5 smile.

It's obviously Garmin, but what are you using to live feed? I'm doing a similar journey in June and want to live blog it.

I didn't crash.

I got there after 18 hours, 320 miles, 10 charges, 1 slow.

Returning now. Aberdeen next weekend.

I messed up the live feed at the service station. I was using an Edge 810. I am cycling the route too so it is mainly for that. Unlike a mobile phone, it keeps going for hours and hours while using GPS.
