Can you please help? I am struggling to get insurance for a small electric car made by a company called "Smart Labs" (this is NOT a 'Smart car' which you have probably seen lots of). It is a tiny fully electric car, was made in Italy and imported. 2 seater, left hand drive.

Make: Smart Labs
Model: Open Smart

I have put a photo of the mad-looking thing on my PistHeads profile and (tried) to upload the photo into this post.

All the usual insurers have said either "its not on our system", or "we dont insure imports".

Any ideas please?

Thanks

Duncan

Try Adrian Flux. They insured me in a Jet Viper powered Renault Espace! smile

Another vote for Adrian Flux, they are good with "oddball" cars, and can often insure imports on the chassis number etc.

I'm intrigued by your car, I can't find much info via google. Have you managed to register in in the UK ?

You need to have insurance in place before going through the registration process...

OP - it is, I presume, under 10yo, so do you have a CoC for it?

It looks remarkably like this one, so maybe marketed under different names....this is Teener or Movitron ?, looks like there is a fleet of them in Milan....which is annoying as I was at the railway station there not too long ago, quite fancy a go in one.
