Are we likely to see any cars come to market with a working aluminium air fuel cell in the near future or is this technology another con to extract development money from investors who are hungry to jump on the next big thing?
does the technology really work? Or is it snake Oil?
It's not really a fuel cell in the way the term is usually used - it's more of a battery. It's not rechargeable and once the aluminium is depleted the unit needs to be replaced.
So, no, I don't think it's the next big thing. Could be a useful stopgap though.
