Diesel v Petrol debate... what about LPG?
Discussion
The sudden awareness in the MSM about the polluting properties of diesel-powered cars has lead to various discussions and Q&A/FAQ pieces in a variety of media outlets. What I haven't spotted is any mention of LPG.
There is likely to be an Ultra-Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) in London (using the current C-Charge zone) from 2020 that will bill non-Euro-6 diesel vehicles and all petrol vehicles pre-2006. There's also talk of these LEZs being extended/taken up by other cities.
IIRC correctly LPG vehicles were originally C-charge exempt. They also currently have a discount on VED because of the lower emissions.
What I haven't seen is any mention of how LPG fits into all this. Anybody know how LPG fits in with this hysteria? Are LPG vehicles going to be lumped in with petrol? Admittedly I'm not that likely to be taking my 05 LPG Impreza into central London in 6 years time, but forewarned is forearmed.
