...and who's getting an i8?
Discussion
I've seen & sat in a couple of these, static, at Brands and at Goodwood, and they look amazing! I also had a sit in the back of the one at Brands, although I had to leave a foot hanging out of the door. I'll be at the dealer launch on Friday - anyone else going? And then I have a demo next week, which should be interesting.
Some RHD UK video reviews coming out now, which seem positive:
Autocar
Car Throttle
I'm tempted, but it would mean selling up everything else - M3, i3, Elise. Can I justify it...?
Anyone here actually ordered one?

I'm going to the dealer launch on Friday, I've seen a few driving around Bracknell (I'm working opposite BMW UK). Test drive booked for next week. I sat in one at Goodwood too.
Did anybody look at the Honda NSX concept at Goodwood? I've not seen anybody mention of it on here. The NSX is meant to be a 3.7 litre V6 with 3 electric motors, I've heard power figures between 400 and 600 bhp.

I didn't see the concept at Goodwood, but I saw an earlier concept and actually tried to put down a deposit.Unfortunately the Honda dealer didn't know what to do with it
So I've decided to wait a bit. It is probably better to wait for the production car anyway.

Took one out for a spin today, and it's fantastic. So, I've put my order in, deposit paid, delivery in April/May.
When I placed my deposit today they were talking July... Allegedly only one central order list so hoping my dealer is being overly conservative.. Or a lot of orders in the last 24 hours....AndyWoodall said:
Saw one (White?) this morning on the way to work between Bridgnorth and Stourbridge at about 8am.
My jaw hit the car floor. It whoosed past like something from a crappy Will Smith summer blockbuster. Looked utterly amazing.
Anyone here?
Benhams wolves demonstrator is white, may have been theirs. I drove it yesterday and tbh was a little bit underwhelmed...My jaw hit the car floor. It whoosed past like something from a crappy Will Smith summer blockbuster. Looked utterly amazing.

Did any of you i8 buyers tick the box for this option I realise BMW marketing must think there is demand for something like this but if they sell double digit numbers of these I will be amazed.

ok, paperwork through - car due by 1/6/15.
Won't hold my breath give the newness of the car and the likelihood of some hiccups on the production run along the way as they ramp up - but volumes are low so you never know...
I can't imagine ordering a car and a dealer saying 'You'll get it in a year's time.'Won't hold my breath give the newness of the car and the likelihood of some hiccups on the production run along the way as they ramp up - but volumes are low so you never know...
Had a sit in one today. Not impressed. ...only kidding. Just opening the door got me creaming my pants. Its got that kind of coll impracticality about it... trying to get a position as you swing down to. get in and the legs out arms out driving position. What suprised me most of all was theres enough boot space to get a tent and weeks clotes in, plus a load more gear in the back seats. I think youd pull the crowds at Le Mans with one of these
