I haven't seen any used i3's for sale yet and I seem to remember my dealer telling me that demo cars were going to be held back for a while so I wouldn't expect to see any of those any time soon.

Lead time seems to be about 5 months although some have got cars quicker. Demand is still pretty strong as deliveries have now started in the US and Asia. My dealer also said they've taken better than expected orders from large companies (like Next & Santander).

A month or so a dealer told me that if I ordered then it would be November (IIRC) and that the demos were going back to BMW so they couldn't sell them. If one was available used I'm not sure I'd buy one until the residuals etc. are known, it is a bit of new territory, I'd be tempted to lease. Saw my first one on the roads this morning in orange, looked good so I've just been looking around to see if any are available in stock anywhere.

Order and deposit placed in October 2013. Delivery expected mid June 2014. A human gestation period. Although some on here have said quicker, to me it feels like watching continental drift.

There's a big topic about UK i3 delivery times here : http://www.mybmwi3.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=3&amp...

The leadtime is all over the shop with some big differences, seems luck of the draw.

That's a long wait! I ordered mine in October and I have had it two months now!

Ross, I know.

Pissed off doesn't begin to cover it. Many emails don't explain it. I thought I was an early adopter. I've never waited for a car before, yet BMW have me gripped by the balls. Hope you are enjoying yours.

It is a long time but a lot of new cars, particularly new models, do take considerable lengths of time to arrive. I don't know how people put up with waiting more than 2/3 months.
