Yes they are free for a 3kW unit or around £95 for a 7kW unit.

You can get them from chargemaster, podpoint, british gas etc.

You don't even need an electric car. Get one!

I have a chargemaster 7kW unit.

Is it better to get a universal 7KW one (ie without an attached cable) if you've not yet decided on an EV? I understand Leafs use a socket 1 connector, and Zoe/Fluence use a socket 2 connector?

Yes - the tethered cable chargers do limit your future options.

I had the 7kw unit fitted two weeks ago on the basis that it will service more cars. Our local estate agent visited today and said it was a "wise investment as future house buyers would find it an attractive option".

Well what do you know smile

I'm interested in getting one of these in my garage which I'll be having built over the next few weeks. I don't have an electric car at the moment, but I can't see the downside to having a free charging point fitted.

Yes they are free (to you).

I'd say give POD Point a ring and get one of theirs, Chargemaster are the devil. But that's because I designed POD's units biggrin
