would it take to drive an EV let's use this BMW thing as an example from Gatwick to Lands End or Gatwick to Glasgow etc ??? Seeing as I used to do both these trips for a 3 day weekend away when I lived in the UK would I now need a week's worth of vacation ?

I'd say an extra 20 mins, to go down to the car hire location, and pick up a non EV for that one off journey

AFAIK many places offer discounts to EV owners for the occasions when you need more than an 80 mile trip

Gatwick - Lands End is 300 miles. Assume you start in an i3 Rex with full charge and tank. You would need to refuel twice to get there. So if it takes 5 min to refuel, it would add 10 min to your normal journey.
