Hybrid's - to plug or not to plug

My definitions of hybrid and mild hybrid are the same as is generally accepted.
I’m not at all interested if you own or lease your cars but your posting history shows that you like to focus in on any minor point that is in no way associated with the core subject but might not be 100% the truth or accurate to push back on.
I included the lease comment so you couldn’t come back with something like “shows how ignorant you are, all my cars are leased, Ha Ha!” I’m imagining you’d do it in the voice of Nelson Muntz from The Simpsons.
Now I know you are disabled I’ll back off.
Edited to add : Handbags at dawn is the correct homophonic slur rather than “flounce off”.
Don’t worry about me. Just accept you were wrong stating Hyundai didn’t offer MHEV’s even though I said I owned one, and then you followed it by the most embarrassing statement about your education/professional experience/confidence in your knowledge of hybrids. That was a corker. There you go again, latching onto something irrelevant. My education any experience doesn’t give me an encyclopaedic knowledge of the lower rungs of the UK Hyundai range of cars. And I corrected myself. ![laugh](/inc/images/laugh.gif)

I hope the earlier pages were of some use to the OP!

I do think you're arguing (debating...) with someone that is doing their best to tread water whilst grabbing onto passing mistakes made by others, to disguise the fact they themselves can barely swim/make a cohesive and well reasoned point.

It's annoying to others. In the same way I expect my reaction is annoying to you. But it's never any use to get angry about the reaction, focus on the cause.

I have an Ioniq plug in hybrid, so my two penneth........
If you do lots of shorter journeys/commutes then you can do most of that on battery if you can avoid being a lead footed oaf.
I know not all are the same but with the Ioniq (which has a hybrid and plug in variants) and I think this is important.
The Hybrid will start it's engine for EVERY journey unless it's shorter than half a mile.
The Plug in may not start the engine for weeks at a time even in daily usage if you keep it charged.
With a small range PHEV you really do need a tethered home charger as you'll be plugging it in a lot.
I have it as I wanted an EV 5 years ago when there were less options and limited public charging and I do a lot of long journeys as well as the local running around.
