@48k, are you still picking yours up on 16th October?
Not heard from Volvo for a while, might drop them a note too see if they have a confirmed date.

Got an electrician booked in for 30th to upgrade the consumer unit in my garage and beef up the supply in there (600 quid!) then I'm going to book in Sync EV to fit the charger. I've declined the free Volvo charger as it's big and ugly and don't want that stuck on the outside of the garage.

Hope it's not delayed chap.

I had an email from New Motion about the free charger a month ago advising me that due to the chip shortage there'd be 6 to 7 month delay! We're having a Wallbox fitted on 1st October. Mind you, having said that we've been managing very well with the granny charger.
Heard yesterday it's slipped to end of October / early November.

What sort of charging times are you seeing on the granny charger ?

Tried to test an xc40 400bhp EV on Saturday. The dealer messed up (and tried to blame it on me booking the phev - which the email contradicts) so we only got to drive the phev version. Liked it lots though so planning to get my wife one, but full EV version.

There is a problem - the xc40 no longer comes with four wheel drive and 400bhp - it comes with front wheel drive, 230bhp and a smaller battery so actually smaller and with lower range than the c40 which still has 400bhp, 4wd and the bigger battery. A bit frustrating as I need to order now to get it to arrive in time (May 2022) but would need to wait until January before there is a c40 to look at. Could do with checking the boot size to make sure not giving too much away. And also cannot drive a fwd xc40 to make sure it isn’t unpleasant in the wet pulling out of junctions…
Are you sure about the P8 not being available? https://www.volvocars.com/uk/v/cars/xc40-electric still listing it.
Carry on to the configurator and look at the powertrain options... eek

I hope my P8 Twin actually turns up now. eek

Just heard from my dealer. Mine is still coming, because "Luckily your car was ordered much before the supply chain issues.".

However they have slipped the date another two weeks so now looking at delivery in November between 07/11/21 and 17/11/21 so we'll see.

Surprise, surprise - my XC40 is delayed yet again, but only a little bit this time so that makes it OK. Was supposed to be 7/11 to 17/11. It's now 19/11/21 to 23/11/21. Dealer is saying the car is actually in build now which means he can be more accurate with a delivery date, and once the car arrives with him they'll need 48 hours to prep it and fit the towbar. So hopefully it will arrive before the end of the month.

Same here, ordered it Sept and mine too keeps getting put back. Last report from the dealer says Dec but I'm expecting another delay.

It's ironic how difficult it is to 'go electric.'
Mine was ordered in July so if it does come next week it will have been 4 months. Based on that I'd guess you are looking at January from a September order.

Just had a call from the dealer - I'm picking the car up on Tuesday. The tow bar is on back order so it will have to go back next month to have that fitted, but at least I finally get a car.

Diderot does your XC40 have Homelink? (the three buttons under the rear view mirror that can be programmed to open garage doors and gates)

I am not sure if I will ever get over that instant torque when I put my foot down.
It's a lot of fun isn't it?

Absolutely hammers the range though - most people are getting mid-late 30 kwh/100 miles paperbag

Christ, I thought our eTron 55 was bad but that's biblical. < 2 miles/kWh is some going. smile
biggrin

It's actually not too bad if you don't indulge the traffic light grands-prix.
