25,000 of your finest now, for 2024 plate with delivery miles.

Bargain of the century, surely.

Someone working on an EV project might be happy to pay £20k, or even for home energy storage?

Bargain in some ways if they end up at that price.

But as a car I would not dare.

I actually saw one of these being driven through Aberdeen this morning. It looked not too bad in the flesh. Hope it lasts for the driver/owner.

You can buy an Tesla 90-100kWh pack off eBay for £15-20k. That’s for a pack with proven history of people stripping them down, lots of DIY support on BMS, safety etc etc. Even if you buy a Fisker at £20K just of the battery, you will need to have a lot of skill/confidence in stripping the thing down, extracting the cells and than reusing them, all with zero support from anyone else.

I’m sure it’s doable, but very few people will have the skillset/time to do this as essentially prove of concept approach, and at £20K it’s not worthwhile, free might be a different matter.

They’re going through BCA with a £25k reserve and seem to be meeting it.

At an auction earlier. 73 plate Ocean with 1k miles came up for sale. Auctioneer stated it CAP's at £33k; tried to start at £29k but no interest, then £28k again no interest. Eventually he opened it up for offers which started at £25k and stopped at £25,600 (all figures are before fees etc)

Doesn't look like the dealers have much faith in them either

Yeahh random, what dealer/used car specialist would go near one of those.

Incidentally a local EV specialist has one on their forecourt, I didn't see the price as I drove past, oddly though it isn't on their website.

Yep, I was aware of that. I was merely highlighting that the trade, seemingly, doesn't want to go near them either smile

25 grand is still a substantial chunk of money and even if it was from a recognised brand it wouldn't be that long before it was worth that much anyway.

Whats in a name

They had 2 on their website last week and it stated they had been appointed as and authorised retailer. It stated that they were described as unregistered, but also did state it was a bit of a risk so they were being honest about the situation.

Seems expensive as they were just saying ver £20k a few weeks ago for pre registered delivery mileage ones.

Interestingly there are 2 dealers who seem to be buying them up so they either know something about support or their buyer has not heard what’s happening. Either way I think onward warranty claims will be interesting.

Given the comments above I'm surprised that the Auctioneer didn't sell it there & then as he 'provisionally' sold it. I've just gone back to their website (https://www.astonbarclay.net/) and it's not shown as going through again. Therefore I'm guessing the seller was happy to take the provisional bid or a deal was done post sale (I'm guessing the first option!)

Now that Fisker have gone bust, do we think they will come out of it? And what happens to unsold stock at the moment? Is it worth a punt at an even cheaper price?

Will you be able to insure fully a comp, a car that is from a defunct start up and spares will surely be a horrendous issue if you were to have a bump?
