Not sure if it's because there are more EV's on the road or the people are too reliant on the technology that most EV's have. However I 've seen some absolutely terrible driving in. EV

Case in point I'm doing 70mph in my ICE in a rainstorm, Visibility is poor hence I'm in the overtaking lane. A Polestar shoots past me and only just avoids a van in front.

Why were you doing 70mph in a rainstorm with poor visibility? Were you relying on your in car technology or your god-like driving skills?

The rain doesn't look that terrible, probably not a great idea to sit in the outer lane at 70 if others wish to come past. I'm aware they shouldn't be exceeding the speed limit anyway, but the fact is they will.

I don't think there an EV connection at all though. Most new cars sold are not yet EV's and they all have the same level of tech and driver aids.

Never seen the type of behaviour described, I've never even seen an EV properly nailing it on an open road, which is a shame.

Sounds like the OP was smoked (sizzled?, fried?) by a school run mum in an ID5 and feels a bit butthurt.

Absolutely IMO. A lot of people have way more power than they used to.

OK, Mr. Motorway Vigilante sitting in the outside lane for no reason. Was there a queue of cars behind you?

A quick look at the rest of the YouTube channel confirms the sort of person they are.
I particularly like this one, where he tries to plow into a taxi to prove a point, rather than just move over which most normal people would do;

I have never had the situation… why? Because I make space for other road users. I do it without even thinking about it.

That's horrific driving by the PHer indeed and a serious attitude issue. But that's also a UK disease of staying in lane when people join and there are other free lanes.
The guy is a serious moron though.

The tax was already in a clear lane though, which is odd and the taxi was definitely at fault to move into the middle lane, with no requirement to do so, into the path of the posters car. Tbh it looked like at least initially the poster was probably in the taxi drivers blind spot zone. What if a truck had been in the outside lane and there was nowhere to escape to?

But it is really stupid of the poster to not move over in this instance, and to eventually do so stubbornly which forced the two cars to be close to contact. It's always on the driver of any car, any situation, to avoid a collision irrespective of who's behaviour lead to the situation on the first place.

A disgruntled plod could do them both for dangerous driving with the video evidence! Pretty dumb thing to put on YT imo.

I agree, but would add that there's an even bigger UK disease of people not knowing how to merge! You know, the ones that tootle down a motorway slip road at 40mph and then grind to stop at the start of the merge lane waiting for a gap of half a mile in the oncoming traffic so they can pull on to the motorway at a snails pace. Don't they understand the merge lane is a set length to allow them to build up to a speed close enough to the motorway traffic to merge seamlessly confused

I'm talking chiefly to Peugeot drivers here, obviously.

Did the taxi not have an entire lane free in front of him and move over without any indication?

I agree it should have been anticipated and the situation + reaction to it was avoidable and clearly played up for the camera though.

He did but it was the perfect convergence of 2 dheads that made something out of nothing. The poster should have anticipated this really and either let off or moved over earlier but there wouldn't be any youtube content if that happened.

Yes because of course I'm going to move into the other lane with a fking 40ft articulated truck in it and let myself be mangled.

Ok Nick since I'm such a moron perhaps you could answer my simple question. Would you be so quick to move over, when having glanced in your drivers mirror you see a 40ft Scania truck hammering up the lane the taxi driver is attmeptingto push you into?

Come on, which is it, get clattered by a taxi or clattered by a 40ft cab unit and trailer

Maybe understand the situation before labelling other people morons.

But you didn't though did you:
'Taxi driver changes lanes without looking then even with my horn blasting continues to force me into the overtaking lane. Had another car or truck been coming up I would have been toast.'

But you did pull into the other lane confused - just not willingly.

You also appear to be travelling at least as fast as a truck is limited to, how was the truck hammering up that lane?

That elusive truck "hammering" up the outside lane must have vanished then as it never overtook you.
Even if that wasn't a fib perhaps you could have considered lifting or braking.
Instead you just proved you're a driver with a very poor sense of anticipation, observation, lane discipline but an accute taste for provocation.
Staying in the middle lane after the incident confirms this, if anyone had any doubt about your MLM status which is probably the least of your driving shortcomings.
