Why are used Audi e-tron so cheap?

That is crazy value. Are they really old tech, or otherwise utter s
t, or what? Christ, 3 year old A3s go for 20 grand at some dealers. And not just at Audi either. Even places like Big Motoring World have got 70 reg etrons with 30k miles for 20k.
Honestly, I have absolutely no idea. I think it's a combination of a relatively poor range (150-180 miles) and the general scare-mongering around EV's.
I've had mine 7 months now and it's absolutely brilliant. It's like a slightly bigger Q5, with 300bhp, air suspension and does the equivalent of 200mpg. I like it that much I'm going to pick up another one when the PCP term is up in 10 months.

Electric Audis seem to drop like a stone, even if they have longer range. I've had mine 7 months now and it's absolutely brilliant. 7 month old Audi E-tron GT Vorsprung with under 4k miles is up for £64k, when it was £106k brand new.

These sit in a space in the market where it makes more sense to buy/lease new than nearly new. Demand is low so prices are low. 7 month old Audi E-tron GT Vorsprung with under 4k miles is up for £64k, when it was £106k brand new.

The reason they drop like a stone is because these ICE companies are overpricing their vehicles massively, and then on the other hand you have pure breed players like Tesla/BYD reducing prices and committing to further cuts.
Why? Because they're living on the 1 year tax allowances giving businesses to buy at stupidly high costs, then they fall into a middle ground where a 1 year old car costs any business owner MORE than buying a new vehicle. Doesn't make any sense. It's the car equivalent of help to buy which also wrecked the housing market.

To the company is makes perfect sense i.e. pay tax or buy a car. It's only the tax payers who is the looser. Why? Premium EVs, not just e-trons, are going to be SO cheap in years to come. This was just published yesterday by TopGear.
"I called up a Mercedes dealer pretending to be a disgruntled EQE customer wanting out of electric. I wanted to know what my car was worth as a trade-in against a new E-Class estate. Bear in mind this EQE 300 is a fully loaded Premium Plus with a list price of £86,345.
When I made the call it was three months old and had covered 4,500 miles.
'I’m prepared to be frightened,' I told him. 'Just as well, things are pretty frightening out there for EVs at the moment,' came the reply filling me with confidence, 'let me have a word with my manager and see what we can do.'
Let’s not tease this out: the answer was £45,000.
'That’s the best I can do, we’ll only be able to shift it on at £47-49 grand.'
I’ll come on to discuss whether there are bargains to be had in the used EQE market, but first let’s deal with that depreciation, because I’ve never seen anything like what’s going on in the premium EV market at the moment.
It’s a bloodbath.
The EQE has lost getting on for £500 per day. Let that sink in, because it is horrifying."

As a used buyer this is absolutely cracking news to me. A premium EV at 2-3 years old is the sweet spot in my opinion. The technology is still fairly new and current, you get the remainder of any warranty that's remaining but the price is 1/3 of what it was when new. Replace every 18-24 months once the warranty is expiring and start again.

But no-one in their right mind paid anything close to list for a EQC, did they! And they were offering 9+36 PCH for £327 per month for l along time
Same as most of the higher priced premium brand EV's. People bang on about heavy depreciation... Yea, depreciation from a price that nobody ever paid to begin with! Most of them are company lease cars for the first 2-3 year of life and the lease rates will have been far lower than the supposed monthly depreciation of the car too.
High headline RRP that only a genuine simpleton would ever consider actually paying.

Evening ladies gents
Do all approved used etrons come with the free home charger,or is it just certain cars.
I think they just have to be part of the “Approved Used Plus” deal. So you get the 2 year warranty and free charger. Worth checking specifically with the dealer though. Do all approved used etrons come with the free home charger,or is it just certain cars.
Mine went in for a service yesterday, nothing to note. Did impress me that at 40k miles, the brake pads were only 30% worn. Brake pads that will do 100k+ miles is another EV perk I guess.

You don't get free charger anymore with used E-Tron, just the GT I think. Went to test drive the 55 E-Tron in Birmingham last weekend, was impressed with the comfort and size but the wife wanted in Blue, and they have it in White.
When I asked for the PCP quote, best they can offer is £2000 deposit, and £377 x 24 months. Feel expensive when compared to some who got it back in December?

Hi, was wondering if I could get some opinions.
Currently I have a Q3 Vorsprung on PCP that is due to end in December. I should have some equity left. Rather than paying the balloon and selling it I would rather just move on to another bigger car as after having a kid the space in the Q3 is a bit challenging for a family. Also another factor is that we have to do nursery runs everyday which means regular short journeys.
I'm looking towards the E-Tron to stay within the Audi brand. I have a service centre nearby which is also convenient.
My question is would I be satisfied with the technik or is it better to go for black/launch/Vorsprung. Consensus I feel is that people would recommend to 'lease' electric cars or hand car back after pcp term because of depreciation. So what would be a respectable amount to lease it out for 2 years? £10k total? Like the poster above it seems like earlier on this year there were offers but now the costs seem to have increased?
Thanks

In terms of spec, my Technik has everything I'd want anyway. Apart from maybe a better stereo it already has everything. Heated/Electric leather seats, digital dash, car play and LED headlights. Apart from styling, I'm not sure what else an S-line for example would bring you in terms of equipment.Currently I have a Q3 Vorsprung on PCP that is due to end in December. The offers at the end of last year were due to Audi having lots of used stock and wanting to get rid of them, hence the good PCP terms. Unfortunately they aren't as good now but it's still a lot of car for sub £300 a month. Personally, I'd pay a bit extra a month and go with the shortest term you can to stay within the 2-year Audi warranty. Then just give it back at the end of the term. .
My car is on an 18-month PCP, and the final payment is £23k...webuyanycar value is currently £14k. Treat it like a lease and just hand the car back, so the final balloon payment is irrelevant. Just be prepared that if you do try and sell it/trade it in during the PCP term you WILL get shafted
