I’ve not found it too bad really.

It’s the biggest car I’ve had and only took a few days to get used to it. It definitely fills parking spaces though.

My other car is a Lexus ISF and the E-tron makes that feel like a toy now laugh

Coming from an A3 I've definitely had to have my whits about me, especially on roads with double parking that I used to fly through that now are far too tight for my liking. The hardest adjustment is parking at the supermarket as the car literally fills the full width of the bay meaning car door dings are more likely so I find myself parking at the arse end of the car park.

I've quickly adjusted though and having regularly driven Transit vans over the last 20yrs this is definitely easier especially with all the cameras and parking aids. Try parking a transit van with just your side mirrors and no beepers!

Update on my charger install, I received the charger a few days ago but left it in the box, its been installed and although I paid for the 8m cable they sent the 5m version.

The installer said they've made a few errors like this so I'd recommend anyone who gets a charger delivered measure the cable if you've paid for additional length, so if its wrong you have time to get the right one sent before the install.

Guy from Pro EV said he will come back the next day to get the cable length swapped over...

Edit: Nobody came, will have to call tomorrow. Not happy...

I haven’t had any response from Ohme or the installers yet
Had someone come out today and move to CT clamp, haven’t tried it since though.

I’m getting the noise from front discs which sounds like they’re sticking, anyone else having this?

Update on the range situation…

Just charged the car up at work, averaged 2.2m/kwh over the last week in 0-10 degree weather and it’s 8 degrees outside:

Should see 175+ during the summer.

Range hasn’t been an issue for me at all so far.

Have to say, I've never had a car with so many 'niggles' or software bugs, very disappointing for a 2 year-old car that was £60k+ new.
This might be the answer to the question in the subject header
Its not just this car, its the entire VAG portfolio with electrical architectures introduced around that time. ID range, Porsche Taycans etc similarly affected. They sacked the group CEO over them. The idea was to software update the cars, but they discovered some issues were unfixable without new hardware. Porsche delayed the Macan EV launch by a year to iron out the bugs first. The ‘car’ was ready last year. So they are learning.

There are stories about electrical gremlins all over pistonheads which sound really similar. ID3, Leon Cupra, Touareg, Taycan, Octavia are some of the cars I’ve read them about. Whatcar’s 5 year old car reliability survey is perhaps a more statistically significant source. All VAG brands are in the bottom half of the rankings, electrical issues mentioned time and time again.

My friend has had his (9 months old when he got it) Q4 e-tron for 8 months now with no problems, so it's not everyone.
He came from a very old Honda CRV and a lovely Porsche 997.2. He loves it.

Yes, the newer the car the better it is. I’ve seen the Autogefuel presenter say with the ID7, VW have sorted their electrical / infotainment issues and he’d recommend them again. I’d imagine the Macan EV will be relatively well sorted out of the gate too.

My 2021 A3 was awful for technical problems. It was riddled with electrical faults from day 1, alternator wouldn't charge the battery, this created numerous error messages and even wouldn't start the car on occasion as the battery was flat. The car was updated many times and did get a lot better by the time it went back but was never truly 'fixed'.

The Etron is much better in this respect.

Pro Ev sent another electrician round after the first one drilled through my cooker cable and he confirmed the electrics had been left in a dangerous state. He cut the damaged cable and added a junction box before checking the rest of the work was done correctly.

The company themselves have been ok, it was the first electrian that let them down but I was told they've expanded very quickly and have taken on a few 'rogue' staff members that need weeding out.

Looking at the Arval used leasing site, there appears to be quite a few ‘N#70’ registered Etrons that have appeared - 15 out of the 21 cars over the last few days. I wonder if there will be an end Q1 sale like at the end of Q4 2023?

But will anyone take them on without the back up of a full manufacturer warranty? I know I wouldn’t, which is why all the pre Xmas deals were such good value.

You can get an Audi warranty for just over £50 a month, and the all in service plan for another £40, so still not bad value. No free charger though!

What Car? have the Audi E-tron GT at no 7 in their 'best to buy in 2024.'

https://www.whatcar.com/best/electric-cars/n17000?...

4 days later, a different top 10 with no appearance of the Audi. The MG4 has jumped from no 5 to no 2 rolleyes

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/electric-cars/86169/...

Clickbait methinks, different list every week to get clicks for adverts maybe?

Has anyone who got one of these given back within the 30 day return period and did you have any issues with the dealership? Don’t really enjoy driving this beast so wondering if it’s best to return now

Got my 2nd etron in Sept, a new 55 black

Anyone else find the suspension creaky when turning/moving round esp reversing off the drive in the morning? Is it a TADTS or need investigating? Dont remember my old one doing it though maybe its the cold weather
update - TADTS - the drive shaft gaitors, apparently they "relax" over time and we only have 2k on it.

I also had a buzzing from the heating/ac - when i pressed "off" it went away. The technician came out when i dropped it off said there is a Audi TPI for it, involved moving some pipework, brackets which were rattling/buzzing. Went in at 10am and took an age (so much for while you wait...), laptop ran out of juice so went for some lunch and was ready at 3pm. I can still hear it too, just very faint now.... curse

Further update:

Nothing from ProEV, despite multiple emails, just a single response saying they've contacted Ohme.

I've now emailed Ohme direct, and will call tomorrow as it is very poor service from Pro EV. I hope others installs have gone smoother.

10 degrees seems to be cut-off for range from what I've seen so far. Now the outside temperature is above 10 degrees, I'm consistently getting 170miles of range and 2.5-2.7m/kwh now.

Lowest I've had from a full charge was 135 miles when the temp was -5.

50 model that is.
