I'm waiting for the Q6 e-tron reviews to appear, which shouldn't be long now.

In a Macan S at the moment and miss the higher driving position that my previous Cayenne diesel used to provide, and the wafty, effortless torque. That's why I'm strongly considering going EV. But I'm a private buyer so will probably have to accept being bent over somewhere with depreciation.i
We'll see.
I think I'd be buying used if privately. As you mention, anything EV seems to depreciate like a stone.
I'm going via salary sacrifice, and I'm in the 60% tax bracket, so it makes a lot of sense for me.

None of them are low cars and semi rural doesn't mean you need an SUV or even winter tires unless you live in the highlands!

None of them are low cars so that's all that matters rather than this obsession with SUVs

Whose obsession, yours?

Polestar, it's not an SUV but that doesn't matter.
You’re gonna need to qualify that.

Polestar 2 is a jacked up saloon with a hatchback
Polestar 3 is very much an SUV
Polestar 4 is an ‘SUV’ Coupe.
Sat in all three today in Bristol. Out of them all the 3, for me, looks and feels the best. Good range too with its 111kwh battery.

All 3 are marketed as CUVs/SUVs and if the iPace and Q4 can be considered SUVs, then the H/K/G trio should be as well.

Functionally they’re all equivalent, except that the H/K/G trio are more modern EV designs that DCFC much faster than any of the Euro offerings…

I sat in an EV6 but my head was touching the roof, I’m tall but only 6”2 so it must have been the panoramic roof.
Shame as I liked it otherwise.

Ipace is getting quite favourable comments here. I did have range concerns but my longest usual journey is a 150 mile round trip which I think almost every EV can handle. Anything longer is properly planned and probably included overnight stays etc.

Wish the iX3 was AWD to be honest.

Wife doesn’t like the Tesla look, so that’s out.

Q6 is available to order via Tusker now, but showing 45 week order time which doesn’t work for us.

Might take a look at the C40 / XC40 this week, but suspect they are a little small.

I thought iPace was considered iffy from a reliability POV?

Also check get an insurance quote - a friend got one and got quite a shock, he ended up (at 40) with a black box policy.

We’ve got the XC40 twin - had it for almost 3 years. It’s surprisingly roomy inside (had an X3 35d before it and they are very similar).

Can I ask what miles per kW you get in 70MPH motoway use?

We have an xc40, its comfy and had enough space for 4 adults, ours is single motor you would need the twin motor for awd obs!
We are waiting on delivery of a toyota bz4x which is longer and has more rear passenger space, but no more boot space

Off the top of my head, can’t remember. But we get about 230-240 miles from a charge on a run. It’s my wife’s daily - c.14 miles round trip, so we can go weeks without charging up. I’m probably going to extend the lease for another year.

Thanks - the use case for ours would be a 60 mile round trip but user lives on a rural steep hill and the motorway section is notoriously often streaming wet.

They’re just blinking expensive and the high mileage bumps it up too.

iPace HSE, it's easily the best drivers and luxury car that appears to be an option to you.

Charge speed and range isn't the best, but it sounds like it's also more than enough so... Does it matter? I assume you can charge at home so charge speed really is irrelevant?

Someone else mentioned to check insurance, mine was low but as a SS car won't the company pay it anyway?

I was initially quoted 20 weeks. After the order was placed with the dealer this came down to 13 weeks. That was 2 weeks ago.

I've had my iX 40 for 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it! It's a company lease, not salary sacrafice. Coming from 3 x X5's previously I wanted a large SUV. I borrowed an iX3 and an iX. My budget would allow a fully spec'd iX3 M Sport Pro versus an almost entry spec iX40 (with a few options).

Having spent a few days in each back to back, there was no choice. The iX is on a different level. I get why some people don't like the look of it, but it's grown on me and now I really like it.

It is a big car, feels bigger than my X5. Inside it's cavernous, the rear passenger space is huge. The boot is pretty much the same size in terms of width and depth, but as the iX is a lower car total cpacity is smaller.

It's amazing to drive, it just glides along but handling is sharp and it's very quick.

If you haven't tried one I'd suggest you take one out for a spin

I wouldn't describe an iX40 as "very quick" - I have one, and it often feels a bit gutless, given how much weight it has to drag around. Body roll is noticeable too. It's a good cruiser though.

The iX50/M60 could be described as "quick" but I take it those would be out of the OP's budget.

Regarding the OP's choice, out of the 3 choices, the iPace would be the one to go for if outright performance (and going round twisties without feeling like a boat) was a priority.
