I go from London to Hereford regularly in my iX and I've noticed that the charging network has improved a lot since I drove there last year in an e-tron.

I was shocked to find seven 150kw chargers available at a 3 shires garden centre in the middle of nowhere in Newent on my last trip in November.
The last year or so I've noticed the same. It seems like 5 minutes ago I was hearing about how fast 150kw charging is on various YouTube channels - always with caveat "if you can find one"...

But now, all services seem to be installing banks of the things. I live in a small market town with 3 of them.

Given that no one needs even consider switching to EV for at least another decade, progress today seems pretty good!

I've also picked one up, getting it tomorrow.

1k down, 280 a month over 2 years. 8k miles PA

Going from London to Hereford on Sunday, around 190 miles. Let see how the charger network works out.
Can I ask where these deals are coming from? On Leaseloco, the cheapest electric Audi is a Q4, 1+23, 8k, £655 pcm? Even if the ones above are business and ex-VAT that's still a heap more.

These are PCP deals with Audi approved used e-trons.

Just back from picking mine up. Extremely impressed so far. It’s incredibly comfortable and smooth and more than quick enough for everyday use.

Picked it up from Maidstone with 150 miles of range, stopped off at Watford Gap services for food and a charge. Plugged straight in no problem at 20% charge, by the time we’d gone inside, gone to the toilet and had a rubbish McDonald’s it was up to 90% charge. 20%-90% (28miles to 140miles) in exactly 30 mins.

2.4m/kwh on mainly motorway with the usual M25 traffic, ~5 degrees and heater/phone plugged in etc.

Far easier than I expected.

Decent. I tried to get this one through Maidstone as I'm only 30 minutes from there.

Off to Eastbourne tomorrow to get mine. Good to see the range wasn't too bad and the charging was quick.

Was that on a 150kw charger?

Yeah it was a rapid charger, but it charged between 92-115kw while it was on. Surprised me how quickly it charged though.

Looks great! Good to hear it charges quickly, I’m yet to experience the stroppy wife and kids because daddy bought a car that can’t make it to Nanna’s house..

Nice!

Makes me wish i'd got a black one, collection for me is Monday 3pm, then head home and hand it over to the wife....

Out of interest, does anyone know the length of the granny charger cable? Trying to figure out if I need to order an extension lead.

It’s roughly 4.5m according to the manual.

I am considering buying one of these, the residuals seem very unrealistic after 24 months but hey!

Question I do have for those of you that bought 70 or 71 plate cars, did you get a ‘battery state of health report’ from the dealership before signing up, as the dealer I’m talking too seems clueless! If so what did it actually show. Thx in advance

Had a black one for 2 years. Looks great when new but a nightmare to keep clean (and there's a lot of it to wash) and shows up every little scratch or stone chip.

Was looking through earlier as tempted to get into another at the prices discussed and spotted our old car up for sale. smile

Cheers. It was a lovely thing and my wife was a huge fan hence considering another, just not so expensive this time. smile

If you can find a charger that can push enough power the 55 will charge at around 150kW from 0-80% without any drop off. Had a Tesla Model 3 P before the Audi and whilst max charge speed was higher it very quickly dropped off in comparison and was no quicker at adding range overall.

The 50 isn't quite so impressive, manages 115kW from 0-60% and then drops off.

Just for balance, I just got quoted nearly £500/mth for a 2020 60k mile e-tron s line 50 with £1k deposit, 24 months and 10k miles a year. I nearly fell off my seat!

I’m assuming that’s because the residual value will be very low given it’s on 60k now?
