Autotrader seems to have dried up.
I've done all my surveying with Ohme and am waiting for an installation date from Pro EV.
Was due to collect my 50 tomorrow but has been pushed out till Monday
They do still appear but the cheap ones go very quickly. I've done all my surveying with Ohme and am waiting for an installation date from Pro EV.

Did you have to pay any additional installation costs for the charger?

I’m on the train now to pick mine up from Maidstone. Only taken them 3 weeks to get it ready.
I think there’s a 4-5 week wait for home charger installation at the moment.
Would be interested to hear your thoughts on it! I have one reserved but can’t get there until next week. I think there’s a 4-5 week wait for home charger installation at the moment.

Are you unable to use a granny charger ?
it's the 30 odd hours that puts me off, again i've not looked into it hugely but how safe is it to leave it on for the majority of the weekend?SKM1984 said:
£50 for the surge protector.
Really hoping for a Jan installation else it will be 65p/kwh for a few more weeks then i'd like!

It's 10A
Perfectly safe
I would suggest that the first time checks are made at the plug to make sure it's not getting warm (which could indicate faulty wiring)

I've left my EV charging at 10A on the three-pin charger for 18 hours solid, not an issue.
Obviously it depends on the wiring and the socket, so agree with checking those the first time, but once it's been charging for a few hours without issue I wouldn't expect it to spontaneously ignite later on.

Go for 'tethered' all day long. Its a pain getting the lead in and out of the bonnet to connect to charge it, more so in bad light or rain, etc.
I wouldn't. We've had our charger since 2017 and gone through two type 1 cables owning to damage. We're now using type 2 as we have a newer car and have a couple of 'spares' that came with the cars. We tend to leave it plugged in, with the rubber end cap, so no getting leads in and out etc.
A damaged tethered cable would be a pain in the arse.

After all my pontificating about 50 doing 50 miles o think I’m about to buy a 50 sport for £5k and £230 / 23
Just too cheap not to
£5k deposit? I think you should be able to pick one up for a lot less deposit than that with the same monthly payment?Just too cheap not to

I've also picked one up, getting it tomorrow.
1k down, 280 a month over 2 years. 8k miles PA
Going from London to Hereford on Sunday, around 190 miles. Let see how the charger network works out.
I go from London to Hereford regularly in my iX and I've noticed that the charging network has improved a lot since I drove there last year in an e-tron. 1k down, 280 a month over 2 years. 8k miles PA

I was shocked to find seven 150kw chargers available at a 3 shires garden centre in the middle of nowhere in Newent on my last trip in November.

Is it really one of life's biggest challenges? I used to think so, but I went for untethered. It's literally just a few seconds for getting the cable out and connecting it, even in the rain. The front of the house looks a lot nicer with an untethered charging point. raspy said:

That's good to hear. I think we may stop at Reading Services and top up then do the remaining 110 miles. Think that should work out. I was shocked to find seven 150kw chargers available at a 3 shires garden centre in the middle of nowhere in Newent on my last trip in November.
