Have you not read the OP’s requirements? He and his missies don’t want the hassle of a plugin especially as they’ll be using a 13amp plug through the letter box probably at peak electric prices!
.
To which the obvious answer to everyone but yourself was an outside socket...
But that doesn’t remove the OP’s requirement of not having the hassle of remembering to plug it in. You really are making a fool of yourself now. Carry on as you normally do digging a bigger hole for yourself.

What's worse..?

Digging a big hole or talking out of the wrong one?

There's no hassle plugging a car in. We can all understand why hybrids are very attractive to those looking at EV but wanting a safe feeling 'toe in water'. None of the things on this thread that you're attempting to dramatise or skew are at all complicated.

Not everyone looking at Hybrids is doing so because they want a safe feeling toe in the water car.

Not everyone ever does anything for the same reason..

But for many, it's the reason I gave - however they justify the thought process.

For some, hybrid is genuinely best, for now.

You really are a clown who doesn’t read something before responding, or you’re doing it on purpose which makes you a clown either way.

It’s not my opinion that it’s hassle to plugin a car, it’s the OP’s! Read the first page of this thread and see how stupid your remarks above are!

As usual you’ve turned up on this thread to give us all your biased ‘expertise’ on EV’s and take then piss when an alternative view is presented. You don’t debate you clown about with your sarky idiot comments. Just how much of a fool can you continue to make of yourself? I’ll know when you reply.

It's clearly not a deal breaker to be able to plug it in, otherwise he wouldn't even be asking the question about the pros and cons.

As usual you've not actually read the OP...

Agreed. I have a mild-hybrid diesel in a L460 D360 FFRR. I use it for longer journeys. It’s a fabulously smooth drivetrain with 700Nm of torque which easily delivers 40mpg+ and has a real 600 mile range between fill ups.

Yesterday my plug in hybrid CX-60 did 900 miles to Western France from Greater Manchester and averaged 40.5mpg for the entire trip.

For a beefy 2 Tonne SUV with 323bhp that will do 0-60mph in 5.8 Seconds I think that’s outstanding.

I plug it in at home or at destination chargers if they are convenient and free, otherwise I put petrol in it.

Nice vehicle.
That’s their appeal
Decent mpg as & when it’s needed.
What’s the EV range on those, 40 ish?
My wife’s Phev is pure EV 90% of the time
Visiting family, local town etc etc
But no second thoughts about a weekend away.
Will compliment my pure EV

Officially 39 miles EV range, actually about 35 miles as long as it’s not freezing cold.

Out of interest, how many times do you do 0-60 in 5.8 secs during that journey?

I’d hazard a guess, that it’s an illustration of available performance compared to the economy.
Rather than I hit 60 in 5.8 secs off of the train/ferry & still got 40 mpg.
It’s not hard to understand wink
