58 KWh E boost v2 in grey - I am too tight to pay 15 quid extra a month for other colours.
Love mine, 11k miles in just under 6 months and would recommend one. Much nicer to drive and sit in than my previous Kia E niro, Cupra is more ‘premium’ in feel.
Via a Sal sac scheme, but would I lease one without the tax breaks? Nope, too expensive but that’s the same for all EV’s in my opinion.
Pros:
- quick and in Cupra mode, very nice to drive
- comfy inside, 3 hr drives no problem
- nice stereo despite only having two speakers
- wife loves the car
- reversing camera is excellent, I’m awful at parking but this makes it easy
Downsides:
- the enormous windscreen pillar compromises vision to a massive degree. Need to do a double take and head shuffle when pulling out of junctions
- laggy screen though it’s not as bad as people make out
- economy when it’s below 12 degrees isn’t as good as the Niro was, although it’s ok once it’s warmer
The 200-230 mile range isn’t a big issue for me, as I only tend to 200 mile plus journeys once or twice a month.
Happy to answer any questions about the car.
Your car has only two speakers? I don't know how you cope. My car has 18 speakers and that isn't enough for me. I'm going to make sure my next car has at least 30 speakers. It must be like 30yrs since cars only had 2 speakers!I looked it up and the Born V2 spec says "7 infotainment speakers".
Probably too soon for yours but VW Group door speakers have a habit of snapping off their connectors if the doors are slammed.

Quick is subjective, I guess its what you are used to. Its nippy sure but I wouldn't call it quick. We have a stage 1 mapped 330D and the difference is huge in performance.Love mine, 11k miles in just under 6 months and would recommend one. The rest I would agree with, its make me think twice about the BMW. If we didn't need to tow a caravan, I would probably look at another EV on top of the Cupra.

In real world driving keeping to speed limits, a 330d would have to try embarrassingly hard to pull away though. It would a hell of a lot of fuss and noise for not really much go. This is where EVs come into their own. I came from an E350d with 286hp and 600Nm torque 5.5 sec to 62mph etc on paper. But it would just feel like it was trying so hard compared to the effortless nature of the Born / ID3. Fine with a sports car where you want it to be about the theatre, but a family Diesel estate / saloon - nah just makes it unrefined. You compared them side by side?I drive both at the moment, the 330D is quicker. The Born is not slow and feels like its giving you a shove but its not as quick, not 0-60 and not from a rolling start either.
Like I said, it subjective and as much as I actually prefer driving the Born these days, its not a 'quick' car in my opinion.

More of a nippy warm hatch really. I do like these cars, but on the used market they seem very expensive for what you get, especially when compared to say a Polestar.
I thought the born and the polestar were similar prices?Jimjimhim said:
Not on autotrader they aren't, where are you looking?
On AT. The cheapest 2023 Polestar under 10k miles is £26490
There are 9 23 plate Cupra Borns with under 10k under that price.
I've no idea about Polestar spec hence I mentioned V1 / V2 Born. If you're comparing the 77Kwh Born and its range with the Polestar single motor then you might have a point. Does the boggo standard Polestar compete with a V3 77kwh Born I've no idea.
